Introductions are in order. - g-rad - 06-01-2009 Hello,   I am "g-rad", my steam display name is "g-rad is Housin.'" I may have played with some of you before, as I am a total addict to Left 4 Dead. Also, I may have gamed with you if "Sponson", colloquially known as "Revolver Sponsalot" had invited me to a game with one or two of you present. This post here, is merely a formality, I believe. I read somewhere else on the site that I should post a greeting here. I decided it would be good form, I am apologetic if it was unnesessary. I am on the east coast of the U.S., and Sponson is a real life friend. So if you do not enjoy my existence within the guild, you can blame him for sending me this way. But all jesting aside, I hope to game with some of you in the future, and wouldn't mind joining a competitive Left 4 Dead team if anyone has a slot open.                                                                - g-rad. Re: Introductions are in order. - Fail Medic - 06-01-2009 Welcome. Would we ever hope to see you on Team Fortress 2? Re: Introductions are in order. - g-rad - 06-01-2009    With the utmost certainty, my friend. I am told I play a mean Pyro. Re: Introductions are in order. - KarthXLR - 06-01-2009 You should write comments on Youtube. Maybe it will rub off on people. Re: Introductions are in order. - zaneyard - 06-01-2009 karth why would you actually read the comments on youtube also, welcome. in case sponson hasnt told you, this isnt really a guild, we are just a gaming community. we really dont do much as far as competitive goes, but you may find plenty of people here to gather a team if you wanted Re: Introductions are in order. - g-rad - 06-01-2009  Karth: Thank you kindly. I am not a huge Youtube fan however, also people do not enjoy thinking. It would be nice if people could learn better syntax, as exhibit even a mildly proper grasp of the English language, but that requires too much work. People simply enjoy to be fed entertainment, this is also why rage quitting is so pandemic. Also I do not enjoy (most of) Youtube simply as it is filled with an overabundance of camwhores, and other exhibitionists. The down side to all the exhibitionism, is it promotes the terrible lack of creativity that we generally find ourselves drowning in, as a culture. Youtube has it's merits, do not get me wrong. It brings free entertainment to large quantities of people, for "free," for one, and for another it allows people to spread their media quickly and cheaply. Overall Youtube is a wonderful thing, but is ruined by talentless idiots with cameras, and those who live through them vicariously. This is only my 2 cents of course, only personal experience, no research. tl;dr - You won't see me commenting on Youtube, but I am quite flattered.      Zaneyard: Of course he has informed me, you give him too little credit. I am aware that "guild" is used rather casually, both through passive observation, as well as conversation with Sponson. Although, I must still thank you for the advice. I do hope to find some people to play with on a regular basis, I simply don't understand how certain people can not grasp even the simplest concepts of l4d. Also, perhaps you can inform me if people here use microphones? People without microphones on l4d bother me severely. Re: Introductions are in order. - KarthXLR - 06-01-2009 Just a by-the-by question: You ever meet with Alan Moore? Sounds like you two would have some fun chats together. I would say that some of us have grasped the concepts of the game. Re: Introductions are in order. - g-rad - 06-01-2009   Karth: Not only have I never spoken with him, I have never heard of him. I am curious as to whether or not I should have? At times it may seem as though I live under a rock.   Zaneyard: That is very good news to hear, and I am blushing ever so slightly. I am glad to see I am well accepted so far, I hope the rest of you are this welcoming as well as this kind. Decency is hard to come by, it seems; of course I could be looking in all the wrong places. He is extremely renowned for work in these for unforseen plot twists, brilliant scripts, and a story board that looks beautiful, as well as intelligent and emotional. He rawks my hawt pawket. Re: Introductions are in order. - fyre - 06-01-2009 Hello and welcome. But I do have to say, your writing style is...puzzling. :-\ Re: Introductions are in order. - cannedpeahes - 06-01-2009 Jesus, meng, I'm the resident syntax elitist here and you're even a step above me. Welcome. Re: Introductions are in order. - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 06-01-2009 Hi! Any other interests you can share? Re: Introductions are in order. - g-rad - 06-01-2009    Karth: Ah yes, I am familiar with his works. Alas I have not read as much of his work, as movies of his I have seen. I have read Watchmen, V, and Swamp Thing. I was surprise how close they stayed to the initial story line in Watchmen. I am sure others would dispute this, and I am unfit to argue against them, as I am neither a comic book or movie buff.    Fyre: Please, do elaborate. I am aware I am a touch coma happy, but I think my writing is still readable. If you disagree, and have some constructive criticism, please continue.     Peaches: I hardly consider myself an elitist. I generally view elitists as people with their heads up their asses, so I assume you are talking in humor. Sometimes humor does not translate well over the internet.    Scary Womanizing Pig Mask: Hrmmm... other interests. I am beginning to feel like this is a dating site. (Humor; excellent joke, everyone laughs.) I am quite interested in music, both contemporary and classical. Unlike others, I recognize the importance of contemporary music. After all, at one point classical was "contemporary." I have about 28 gigs of music, which I listen to all of regularly. This is probably due in part to my lack of cable television. Trolling can be a fun past time, but I prefer to play "seriously." I like to read quite a bit, especially H.P. Lovecraft, and am currently reading the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe. This summer I intend to master the art of the "random pickup" with a good friend of mine. I enjoy helping people with their problems and especially enjoy assisting people with relationship issues. This last interest is due in part to a simple sadistic glee that I encounter when hearing of the misery of others. I like to draw and paint, as well as write poetry. I am rather mediocre as far as painting and drawing is concerned. Sponson will always be my superior in drawing, but he's far more impassioned about drawing. Poetry provides a decent outlet, however that art form is out-dated. Less and less people appreciate as time goes on, probable due in part to the common mentality that entertainment should not require thinking. I do hope there are others here whom also despise this mentality. I could probably go on, but have never been easy with talking about myself. Even with my objectivity I still can't help but feel egocentric when explaining the aspects of me. Re: Introductions are in order. - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 06-01-2009 Best answer I've ever gotten to that question My sincerest welcome goes out to you! Re: Introductions are in order. - Sponson - 06-01-2009 [quote]but he's far more impassioned about drawing.[quote] Well no shit. When its what you eat, drink, and sleep on, you start to view it from a more objective manner. Or so I thought, until nearly everyone in fucking art school is still very super duper passionate. Here are about seventy-five percent of the errors. And yeah, your writing is very readable. I just find affected prose amusing, especially when it's filled with errors. It's nothing personal. I actually think you might be pretty cool. At the very least, you'll add some diversity to this place. And I agree with Pig Mask: as introductions go, yours is one of the most informative. I will even +1 you. Someday maybe we can have an Epic Battle of Pretentiousness. (06-01-2009, 05:35 PM)g-rad link Wrote: ...I am a total addict to Left 4 Dead.
