DayZ mod for ARMA2 - rilnac - 05-04-2012 âArmA 2 - DayZ Mod, First Impressions IMPORTANT: Needs arrowhead dlc too, there is a bundle that has both for $29 (so be careful not to buy the game for $20 and then be stuck upgrading for +$20) Anyone tried this yet, seems very promising. And it has permadeath!!! Would be cool to have a nice sized wrecking crew. Here is what I've seen so far. Pros: -nighttime is fucking scary, i can barely see the ground under my feet at high brightness with the lights in the room off. -graphics seem decent -world seems fairly huge, with lots of exploring, forests actually have tons of trees, etc. -lots of people on to pvp Cons -takes up to 15 minutes to connect the first time while it makes your character (luckily this is just the first time, and any time you die) -slow to connect in general and hard to find servers with slots Re: DayZ mod for ARMA2 - Waka - 05-06-2012 Got Rilnac into this, so I get the credit. Played it for reals for the first time last night, and jesus christ it's a lot harder when it's night time. Also don't drop flares unless you want every player within a mile radius to hunt you down. [/quote] you just announce in chat that there is a GPS (because you don't even get a map to start or a compass) at whatever landmark. Then watch the bums rush and rain down death upon them. |
