How would you make TF2 better? - KarthXLR - 01-09-2011 I'm being serious with this one. I've been talking to a lot of people who have been unsatisfied with TF2 as of late, so out of curiosity, what would you do to make the game better? Buffs, nerfs, removing features entirely? Personally I would want Valve to playtest their weapons more. Some of them are downright annoying to be killed by. Due to me being a gigantic faggot spy player, I'd love for the ambassador to have reduced falloff damage. I seethe every time I do a long range headshot, and then a 13 damage bodyshot. Re: How would you make TF2 better? - beep beep diglett - 01-09-2011 1. remove DR. totally goes against everything the class is about. it's like giving scout a long range weapon. 2. add headshots to sydney sleeper, but charging only adds time to jarate effect, not dmg. effective sidegrade. 3. add rollers to l&l so it's not terrible 4. crits pass through FOS resistance 5. use the beta to playtest updates. idgaf if it removes the surprise, it's essential to balance. There would be no more tf_damage_disablespread or tf_weapon_criticals at all, just gone. Neither add anything to the game, and only serve to coddle the unskilled. Nothing is better than drilling someone from ~6m with a shotgun to hit for 52 damage, then hitting them twice more in succession to get 13 and 21 damage. Damage no longer rewards good aim consistently, it rewards the random number generator, randomly. And random crits? Just fucking retarded. There's no upside to them, they simply unbalance every encounter they happen in. There is nothing "balanced" about being a heavy fighting a demo, eating one pipe with your face, and then instead of your minigun killing him before you, he gets a random crit pipe and blasts you for 330 damage and wins. That's actually game breaking. Re: How would you make TF2 better? - backfire - 01-09-2011 Okay, how about removing the ability to mod the render depth of player and wall textures? I like a few custom skin and models, but if a server allows those, then anyone can walk in with a few texture mods and instantly see everyone through any wall. Instead they give us sv_pure which would be totally UNNEEDED if they didn't allow for such a modification in the first place.
