Those interested in Titan Quest Wednesdays... - Tragic Hero - 04-09-2008

Going to try to start it up for next week.  Tonight I am busy plus I want to make sure who is 100% interested and give you guys time to get a copy before we start.  Also we should ponder on things such as newcommers since we will be playing the campaign it might be difficult if a level 5 joins in on level 20 mayhem and so forth. 

So who is in for next week?  And can someone think of a more clever name than "Titan Quest Wednesdays"?

Edit:  I will be including the expansion as well so I would recommend you guys getting your hands on it one way or another or else I don't think the multi player will work.  Immortal Throne is worth buying anyways if you have TQ.

It definitely would be started from the beginning.  It wouldn't be any fun if we had pre-made characters and/or start in the middle of the story.

i'll try to find my copy. it's currently shoved under my bed as part of the great wall of td to prevent the kitties from getting under there and tearing up the box frame, lol.

mine copy says theres 1 day and 7 hours remaining on the delivery.

which version do we need to patch up to ?

Update to version 1.1 I believe.  And I just looked and the max amount of people a server can have is 6 players in it.  Which should work out since I posted this about 2 days ago and we have 6 people interested so far.  Plus someone else could always run a game a long with it.

If you liked Diablo I would definitely try to get your hands on TQ.  It is the best Diablo clone you will play, in the best way possible.

My wife would like this game...I just checked the trailer.

If its wednesdays it'd be tricky for me because me and my wife dont get much time together - she works full time and is getting her masters.  Wednesdays are kind of expected that I spend time with her since she doesn't have class and I played TFT the night before.  But if I could get her to play I'd be down it could be very fun.  I'd just have to get my computer upstairs on the network and get the game.

Does anyone know what would be easier, a USB wireless adapter or just a network card?

Just looked it up on steam and its like 20$ for both Titan Quest games.

So I'd be lookin at 40$ plus cost of wireless adapter....I might have to wait until next payday.

Although 20$ for both games is pretty sweet if it is as good as you say.

I would go with the regular network card.  Although the technology has advanced I still don't like using wireless when it comes to my desktop PC.  And you shouldn't have trouble getting your wife to play, its a very easy game to get into.  I put this on my moms computer after she beat Morrowind and she is almost done beating the game on Legendary difficulty.

Yea I'd have to drill a hole from my 1st floor to my second (I live in a townhouse) so I have to go wireless.  That is unless I can use two cable modems at once?  I have to call about that.  My desktop is set up for wired but not wireless.

Actually Im going to call on that, running both my cable modems would be ideal.

Also I'm going to need a custom xp install so I should check that other thread.

And getting her into it will be no problem, she is obsessively into hack and slash RPG's.

If that's the case I will just do that, I thought there was problems playing co-op with it though.

If we use Hamachi (which I think we will since 75% will be playing with pirated) it will work.  Pirate versions work for multiplayer via LAN and since that is pretty much what Hamachi does we shouldn't have a problem.  I am going to try to test it out sometime this week so I/we can make sure it works so we are ready by Wednesday

exactly what i would have typed. except you used capital letters, and proper punctuation.

if hamachi doesn't work ill get an 8 port switch and start pullin some cable.

there's 32 minutes left on my delivery from the "store" so we can test whatever whenever.

i might type up a hamachi for newbs post for the layperson on the forums here. I was talking with kor just a minute ago about how iw as trying to do the exact same thing that hamachi does, ten years ago, with a VPN  ....  :-\

and if you are worried about your DVD getting scratches you can use this file so you can leave it in its protective case.
