SUCCESS! Tragic Hero has a job! - Tragic Hero - 05-29-2008

After a whole month and a half of "vacation time" it looks like yours truly will be returning to the work force.  What job is it you ask?

Temporary Mail Carrier.  Yeah its not the most glamorous job in the world but I'll be getting $19 an hour plus benefits.  Plus carrying mail isn't really the hardest job in the world.  I won't have any bosses looking over my shoulder or any annoying customers or clients nagging on me while I do my job.  Unfortunately that might mean I won't be around as much as I usually am but that shouldn't affect FNF and other major events here.

So how about it?  Three cheers for me?

Fucking eh! Mail carrier actually doesn't sound that bad. If it's a walking route you'll get tons of exercise and fresh air. You'll even be making more money than I am at my shitty ass job. Tongue

Plus don't forget about those lonely housewives. (or so porn as led me to believe...) Wink

you're making more than as much as my brother and his microbiology degree....

Thank you sir.  It will most likely be walking routes so yeah I'm looking forward to the free exercise.  And I can get a kick ass farmers tan.  At least your job you will be making the big bucks down the line if you don't go insane.

Heh, dogs aren't too big of a deal.  I've done this before as a casual carrier (3 month period of work) and through all my career i've only been bitten twice:  once by a bulldog and the other by a lab/mutt kind of dog.  The rest of the time the dogs are just happy enough to have some one come by and pet them while they are outside.

Yep, and is probably why so many people are willing to stay in a dead end job. Looking for a job is a full time job on its own, and in addition you have to balance things like interviews with not tipping your current employer off as to your intentions.

And who's to say that I haven't already gone insane. I went from a job that burned me out to 6 months of bliss to a job that's boring me to tears. :S

Sweetness Tragic!

All you need is some old, petty geriatric to work alongside, and you're golden. Big Grin

Hah.  Thats not even funny.  It is rather funny the type of people that try to work at the post office though.  My one year working in the summer this one dumb girl, who was about 30lbs overweight, thought it was a good idea to work in jeans.  Next thing I know I have to go and finish her route after mine because an ambulance had to get her because she "overheated".  *sigh* People...

You don't know dumb until you try to explain what a pun is for 30 minutes to some ditzy blonde chick.

She was using "no punt (spelling intentional) intended" incorrectly so I thought I might enlighten her.  Took a while just to convince her there is no T.  Then I walked through the meaning with several examples.  The bare necessities song, tune a piano but cant tuna fish ("why would you want to tune a fish?" exact quote), and finally when you call people gophers.  What did I get out of it?  Called a gopher, out of context.

Point + cunt = punt. For those instances that you really need to save that extra syllable.
