Rock Band for Wii - Eschatos - 07-26-2008

Don't bother getting it.  They gutted the tour mode and completely took out the character creation.  Also no online and no DLC makes me sad.  It's still pretty fun though.

Re: Rock Band for Wii - KarthXLR - 07-26-2008

I slap Harmonix for Wii porting.

Just stick with the "next gen" consoles.

I'm really sad saying that, but Nintendo's basically confirmed they aren't targeting us anymore, which is a very sad end for us Nintendo gamers.

Now my only hope for Hardcore gaming remains here and hopefully the PS3.

Re: Rock Band for Wii - Luca Shoal - 07-26-2008

You fucks can buy me a 360, the game, and a Gold account if you really want. Otherwise, I'm stuck with the Wii version that I just bought today Big Grin.

Also, the mic on the Wii version is really picky I've noticed.

We can use our magical Nintendo power to create a truly powerful band!  Furries 'R Us?

Re: Rock Band for Wii - jorge - 07-26-2008

I was planning on waiting a few months for GH4/RB2 anyways.

And lol@u if you think Rock Band is a hardcore game.

[/quote]Schrodinger's Cat, actually (tho I can't get the 's part to fit, yet it fits in GHIII. Fucking Harmonix.) That or Magenta Umlaut for my solo band.

@jorge - who's saying it's hardcore? I want those next-gen rhythm games as well. Especially to rock out to Chop Suey, and Beat It (if it's in GHIV of course) respectively.

I never said thar Rock Band was hardcore.

Re: Rock Band for Wii - broonor - 07-27-2008

it's not as much that is was gutted as it is a ps2 port.  A port of a ps2 game which is a port of a ps3 game which is a port of a 360 game.  Harmonix went all Jumanji on us here.

Re: Rock Band for Wii - Luca Shoal - 07-27-2008

The Wii & PS2 versions are gutted versions of the 360 & PS3 versions, right?

And I woulda preferred the next-gen ones for customizable band members, and to be able to pick & choose DLC. I hope the "track pack" discs will be rippable to Wii Band 2.

No dlc and world tour I think. also no character creation.

I should give you like a minus 20 for that, just because developers make casual games for the Wii doesnt mean you have no games that don't appeal to the "core" audience. Mario Galaxy, Zack and Wiki, Metroid Prime 3, Brawl, No More Heros, RE4, and Okami.

No go sit in a corner and think about what you said  >Sad

Halo 3 > all  Jorge = All.  Halo 3 > Jorge

See the problem with that is, I own all those games, and I am bored already. What I really need is a collect-fest action-adventure platformer. Mario Galaxy was great, but it should only be the first step. Big Grin

2 of those aren't Wii exclusives and all of them were already released some time ago.

What's in the future from Nintendo? Wii Sports Resort? More peripherals? Shawn White sno...screw it, it doesn't count.

And as for Nintendo's games this year at E3, it's Animal Crossing with everything from Wild World, with little else.

The only thing that sparked my interest was when Shiggy actually told us what we wanted to know. "We're making Pikmin"

The excitement slowed down to a trickle.

Yeah, I have to agree with you.  I feel like Nintendo has abandoned hardcore gamers. The only thing I can imagine playing on the Wii in the future is Brawl and Rock Band.

Re: Rock Band for Wii - Geoff - 07-27-2008

I think it was a good choice for Nintendo to go casual, financially-wise.  I mean, my friend waited to go get Wii Fit and there was all older people in front of him.  Also, it could all be a big experiment.  After the Wii, Nintendo will have made so many more people gamers.  The next system will be hardcore, which the new gamers will play.  New gamers, which were once casual, will spread the word, and make MORE people buy games.Â
