GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Spore - 10-17-2008 Totally deserves a thread to itself marking its release. All that work has finally come into fruition. http://mother3.fobby.net/ Instructions on the page. Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - timepants - 10-17-2008 REJOICE! Goodbye productivity... Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - ScottyGrayskull - 10-17-2008 No idea when or if I'll ever play this, but regardless kudos needs to be given to the people who worked on it. Lots of these projects never get finished, so it's always good to see one that does. Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Wedge - 10-17-2008 Fuck, got stuff to do first today =< Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - CaffeinePowered - 10-17-2008 Got through Chapter 1 and about half (I think) of chapter 2, its pretty sweet so far Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Ceceil Felias - 10-22-2008 Holy crap I made a post after so long :O I didn't really enjoy it when it wasn't translated but I gave the translated version a shot and played it for a few minutes. Then it was 9 AM. Then I played it again. Currently a ways into chapter 7, and Fassad's eating me for breakfast. I'm stuck grinding for a while, I guess. :< Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Tragic Hero - 10-22-2008 I was expecting the beginning to be more like Earthbound and I start playing through chapter one thinking "This isn't funny at all. This is depressing" Such a great game. Question: What do you measure the beat by during combat? I try to time the hits with the different beats and it never seems to work. Best I can do is mash the A button when I confirm my attack and I'll usually get two hits. Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Squishy3 - 10-22-2008 it's hard to get used to, you can beat it without it, it just helps immensely if you get used to there's seperate notes that chime in when you start attacking that tell you when to hit the button, but I haven't really managed to tell which one it is Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Versus - 10-22-2008 got a 16-hit combo yesterday 8) Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! If you ctrl-alt-del, then find the emulator exe set its priority to 'Real-Time' or 'Highest', this will devote more processor clock-cycles to the exe and help close that gap, making combos easier. Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Spore - 10-22-2008 I've just been pressing to the beat of the music and get 16 hit combos all the time... I'm using actual hardware so I don't have any kind of emulation delay. Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - timepants - 10-22-2008 Using Duster's Hypno-pendulum makes the beat stand out clearly. Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Spore - 10-23-2008 Is the combo beat something different from the beat of the music or not? You guys are talking about doing all kinds of silly stuff to get the beat. Has me getting 16 combos from the music just a coincidence? Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! No you are just pro I suppose. I can never hear the beat precisely. Plus I haven't done what Caf said to do and put the game in "real time" Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! I can hear the beat, its the delay between pressing the button and the corresponding registration of the press in the emulator, its not instantaneous like it should be. Re: GET YOUR MOTHER 3 HERE! GET YOUR MOTHER 3! - Greatbacon - 10-23-2008 Just started playing today, and finished Chapter 1. I'm really enjoying it so far, and I managed to get an 11 hit combo on the mecha-dinosaur at the end of the chapter. When the enemy is asleep, you will hear a throbbing bass beat stick out which is what you need to time your presses to. |
