One of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. After three watches, it's still great. I guarantee you this will be remembered for a long time.
It was kind of a sleeper hit though, honestly. Not much hubbub when it came out.
It made a big profit and it has fairly positive reviews on the sites. Sounds like hubbub to me. :p Re: The Movie Thread - EarthlingJohn - 02-26-2011 WAtching space jam. I love space jam Re: The Movie Thread - Spore - 02-27-2011 I watched Stalker. I'll have to take Philosophy, Russian History, and a class on the human condition again in college and give it another watch. Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 02-27-2011 Watched The Bad and the Beautiful and Sword in the Stone recently. They were both alright. Sword in the Stone was better when I was a kid. :-\ Re: The Movie Thread - EarthlingJohn - 02-27-2011 Space Jam is better than when i was a kid And i just watched from paris.. With love..... and lots and lots of blood and bullets Re: The Movie Thread - [SiN] Merc - 02-27-2011 Watched "To Kill a Mockingbird" earlier today. God, Gregory Peck was amazing in his role. Re: The Movie Thread - Mission Difficult - 02-27-2011 Quote: Merc link=topic=947.msg197813#msg197813 date=1298793474] He's just plain amazing. Re: The Movie Thread - Maxon - 02-27-2011 Watched "Monsters" which was alright. Was kinda like if The Road was less depressing lol I kinda wish they had shown abit more of the creatures in the film, as stuff like this, I always want to know more, but they want to just give you the bare minimum, if that, most of the time. Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 02-27-2011 Oscars tonight. Opinions and Predictions? I think How to Train Your Dragon should win best animated, but I know it won't. Re: The Movie Thread - copulatingduck - 02-27-2011 Social Network will win because fuck americans are dumb Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 02-27-2011 (02-27-2011, 05:29 PM)Duck link Wrote: Social Network will win because fuck americans are dumbTo be fair, Social Network is my pick, because it was the only REALLY good movie I saw this year. Look at the Annie Awards this year. http://www.annieawards.org/consideration.html How to Train Your Dragon won in every single category it was nominated in. People like that movie something fierce. Re: The Movie Thread - EarthlingJohn - 02-27-2011 I really liked how to train your pet dragon... i hope it wins, but toy story 3 is pretty damn hard to beat Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 02-27-2011 Toy Story won best animated, Kings Speech won best picture, and Inception took home 3 4 oscars. Overall: Bad year for movies, alright oscars, terrible hosts. Re: The Movie Thread - EarthlingJohn - 02-28-2011 How to Train your Dragon should have won. Re: The Movie Thread - Surf314 - 02-28-2011 I think there was some shitty political things going on in some of the awards. Inception should have won for best screenplay I think, and eff Toy Story 3 and Randy Newman. Pixar is great and all but How to Train Your Dragon was amazing and let Dreamworks have their one (two?) great animated movie glory. Also a friend was telling me that a lot of hollywood insiders were pissed at how popular Inception was because they wanted to stop making movies like that and saying it was too cerebral, so they were basically giving it to Nolan to show him they flop so he could hurry up and make another Batman or something. |
