Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - Fail Medic - 08-19-2008 (insert post bitching about odd game instability brought on by broken sandvich netcode here) Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - Wedge - 08-19-2008 Ummm yeah, seriously, two hardlocks since the update. Not cool. Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - Riosan - 08-19-2008 For some reason, I can't hear the om nom nom's of the sandwich or some of the background sounds on lumberyard. :'( Edit: Also, my version of ravine is "different" from any other servers. D: Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - JoKeRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - 08-19-2008 My game is acting all unavailable on me. I blame the superfluous amounts of Heavies. Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - CaffeinePowered - 08-19-2008 They royally fucked some things up crash wise and sudden death wise, also arena using a competely different config is utterly stupid Opinions - Badwater: Good and competent, not amazing, but it doesn't suck either Mini-gun Unlock: Not as bad as I thought, might depend on what map its on if I use it or not Sandwitch: Meh, I'll stick with the shotgun, most of the time you're going to have a medic with you anyway Boxing Gloves: have not used yet Arena: Have not played, but since it breaks a lot of stuff Im not happy with how valve's put this one out, but since Duck seems to love it, thats what #2 might be set up to do. Best thing out of this update - removal of the custom tab, hands fucking down beats anything Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - ainmosni - 08-19-2008 Ain's opinions: * Bathwater: Seems cool, haven't played it enough to have real opinion yet. * Steel: Nice to have this map stock because it's awesome but huge. * Natasha: This might have tactical benefits, I don't play heavy so I wouldn't know... * Sandvich: funny and handy in arena matches. * KGB: Cool but moderately useful * Arena: Cool change of pace but I still prefer objective based matches. Lumberyard is GORGEOUS though. * Custom tab elimination: best thing in the update * Timeleft timer in scoreboard: great little touch * Kritzkrieg tweak: nice * Backburner sound: nice touch. All in all a great update, not because of the things that where announced but the custom tab going the way of the dodo made it great... Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - Aerox - 08-19-2008 I haven't confirmed this yet, but based on playing tonight it looks like snipers can't headshot while the heavy is eating a sandwich (or it could just be my terrible hitboxes). I hope they fix that, because it's the perfect time to put a bullet in their face. Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - Mission Difficult - 08-19-2008 I discovered my favorite part of the update while digging through the GCF. A sound file called heavy_sandwichtaunt12.wav in which the heavy states, "You are a loose cannon sandwich, but you are a damn good cop!" Re: Heavy Updates... I went looking for the bsp to delete but I think valve keeps the stocks in a resource package. So, I uninstalled then re-installed TF2 (bad timing during the update, I think they reserve download space for the folks who just want the update). Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - Surf314 - 08-20-2008 I crashed 3 times last night. They are also the only 3 times I've ever crashed. I'd have to say I like the update though. Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - Mission Difficult - 08-20-2008 Heavy Sandvich Taunts. I just threw them all in there because they are all pretty funny. Re: Heavy Updates... Next Week? - Surf314 - 08-21-2008 I never realized how many people run away from me until I was tempted with the prospect of slowing them down. Now that I just unlocked Natascha I think I might stick with it for a while. It's main usefulness seems to be taking out medics, although it makes it impossible to defeat a heavy medic pair...... Well shit that's a tough choice. Re: Heavy Updates... Except when you get hit by an essentially insta-kill stream of crits from a syringe gun and wonder why you switched. Personally, I'm still using the regular fireaxe, there's a definite trade-off involved. |
