Re: Server Rotation - Turtle - 06-05-2010

I hate roswell (except for point A because that's actually pretty good)

Each time it came down to C it was pretty fucking epic. I would normally complain about how C shouldn't be cappable as long as defenders occupy it...but it actually kinda worked out.

The Frontier, Coldfront, and Cashworks are larger I believe

Re: Server Rotation - beep beep diglett - 06-07-2010

frontier and cashworks are basically vanilla maps, so many people have played them

but yeah coldfront suffers from the same problem, rarely does the server have more than 12 people on coldfront

Frontier and Cashworks weren't always "vanilla" someone has to push it, over time more and more people will download it.

Remember when we first started playing a lot of snowdrift...and no one downloaded it....and after about a month or two all of the sudden it seemed like the population wouldn't crash out because of it?

All depends on the crowd in the server...

This difference is that Frontier and Cashworks are fun and Coldfront is not.

Cashworks is awesome though.... It's my favorite map to play on as heavy, especially when pocketed by a good medic. So many opportunities for flanking and ambushing on both offense and defense.

Re: Server Rotation - SAVAGE-0 - 06-07-2010

thank you for putting steel after dustbowl Smile its my favorite

Re: Server Rotation - Odin - 06-07-2010

Well a lot of people like coldfront so I say keep it, even had a pub asking what the map name was today after he enjoyed it.

Re: Server Rotation - Versus - 06-08-2010

Oh, come on.

I spent an entire weekend trying to get people to RTV to it, but it seems like no one on the server was dumb awesome enough to do it.

Orange has FNF possibilities though.

i realized that like a week ago, maybe my connection was shitty that day

Re: Server Rotation - Vandamguy - 06-15-2010

i was gettin kicked off the server a lot for not having maps.. till i mirrored the ftp by caffs advice.

still , from a seeding viewpoint .. this may be why we have problems.

Kirby is going to work through it, we're gonna see if anyone gets problems this TFT then we can cross reference IPs and track down the error in the logs

Re: Server Rotation - Kirby - 06-15-2010

As it stands right now, I'm getting errors in my webserver logs left and right from clients asking for .bsp files, which are the actual map files, instead of the .bsp.bz2 files that are the zipped copy of the maps, which is what the game server tells the clients to ask for. The clients should never ask for a .bsp file, unless they ask for a .bsp.bz2 file first and are told that that file does not exist, and there are no requests for .bz2 files that fail, because thats all my server hosts.

More than 60% of all these requests my webserver gets, for files that the clients should not even be asking for in the 1st place, don't even have a referrer attached to them. Source based games that are using an external download server send a referrer with the request, saying what server told them to ask here for the map files. So I'm looking at a crapton of requests that shouldn't be made, more than half of which aren't even properly formatted.

So as it stands right now, all indications are pointing at valve and/or the t2 client fucking up.
