Did this once when a friend's character got involved on a treason arc. In the end, the Quest Dungeon's "boss" was so fucking OverPowered when my friend saw it he thought we were fucking with him since there was no way we could defeat it and quit the group.
In the end we defeated the "boss" but revived some old man's parrot instead. He gave us some awesome fruit juice.

man one of my favorite parts about pnp games is there is literally no limitation on what you can do, youre not given any boundaries, and yet people still think of it as a shooter on rails. if your character dies, roll up a new one, join the group and do something to get your old character back or just take his stuff, its not like its hardcore diablo and you're booted from the game forever, deal with it nerd

Man, I still wish I had some people nearby that I knew to play DnD with. I tried signing up for the sheet at the local store and got two calls; one never called back and the second was too fucking far away to go every week.
Last time I played with Crystal and my Ex, he was the DM and we found a group of Elves. I was a half-elf I think and he gets this horrible look on his face. Roll a die, he says. So I do. He's like 'OH you're so lucky, one more point and you would have gotten raped"

heh, back in the day (Palladium), I'd make people roll 3 characters before starting a campaign. As they dropped like flies they'd start picking new members up out of the blue. Gnomes, omg, you could put a gnome character anywhere; fall through a ventilation shaft of your dungeon, discover wriggling gnome in satchel of zombie you just slew, "You crack open the mellon, only to be greeted by not mellony goodness, but a gnome blissfully slumbering after gorging himself on your lunch"

A couple of the people we played SW RPG with intentionally tried to fall to the dark side.
"Ok, you just saved this innocent woman from being killed by stormtroopers"
