Re: The great gift pile - K2 - 12-29-2011

Wow, I found another copy of Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter. Anyone have any games to trade for it? (no Valve games, I have them all already)

TF2 Outpost and I think Trading Post support trading steam inventory games if you can't find anyone to take them.

A lot of trial & error, had a nice bottle neck point at the start & when the boss yeti showed up, he started the "ooo piece of candy" movement he was hell bent on stepping on everything before moving forward so I kept placing blasters around him.

Re: The great gift pile - backfire - 12-29-2011

Man I feel sorry for everyone who got Binding of Isaac hoping for an easy objective. Took me about 4 complete playthrough before I had the bright idea of switching to Cain with his lucky foot before I finally found Krumpus and got my coal. Incidentally, the objective rewarded me coal.

On the other hand, I laugh at anyone who thinks "Isaac" and "easy" can make sense in the same sentence.

Satan's room is determined by how much damage you took on the stage and boss, not luck.

Also yeah, the first 20 hours you play that game are hard, then you get used to it. I'm only one achivement away from 100% it

It still is luck when it comes down to it. The less you get hit, the higher chance you have to Satan's room appearing, but it's not guaranteed if you don't take a scratch. From there, you only have a 10% chance to find Krumpus the first time you visit one raising to 50% by the third room. What the lucky foot does is raise every the odds in your favor, giving you a better chance to find Satan's room and Krumpus.

The foot also gives you better luck with everything else (better chance at item drops and lotteries, less chance at harder enemy rooms and finding bad pills.) It kinda makes the game into easy mode honestly. I played through with Cain last night and managed to get down to Sheol and kick Satan's ass directly without taking a single scrach.

Cain and Judas are easy mode, Eve is the real problem on that game. I think beating it with her (him?) took me as much as it did with Isaac, Cain and Judas combined.

Yeah, I had more trouble trying to beat Sheol with Eve than I had beating it with ?? ?. Eve's damage output is terrible, just terrible.

I'm pretty sure it's based on how much faith you have when you finish the boss.

Given I had like 12 hearts of faith at one point and the door continuously spawned until I decided to drop down to 0 HP. The Book of Revelations is awesome, by the way.

Ooh, ooh, I have Space Empires V up for trade.

would you like SPAZ and/or Glowfish for it?

Have portal and TF2 is free, but have never played HL2 or ep1+2.

In all my times trying to play as Eve, I think I've only found damage power ups three times. The game knows, man. Fuck Eve.

Re: The great gift pile - Didzo - 12-29-2011

I got the Krampus achievement in Binding of Isaac, but...

It doesn't show up on Steam at all. I am pissed.

Edit: If anyone else is having this problem, you can find the fix here.

I got a fucking coal.
