Re: Pictures - Greatbacon - 03-16-2012 Here are some 200 pictures I took during my backpacking trip to Bryce Canyon this spring break. It was a good time, except for the part where we hiked 2 miles through 2 feet of snow uphill, with like 40 pounds of crap on my back. Sounds (and looks) like a good time. Re: Pictures - kaese - 03-19-2012 After it rained today, this little guy tried to break into our house. Re: Pictures - A. Crow - 03-19-2012 Approves Re: Pictures - Kirby - 03-24-2012 Yeah, Greatbacon and myself still look like long lost brothers or something. Re: Pictures - kaese - 03-24-2012 With all this recent talk of ghost peppers and whatnot, I felt a bit adventurous and went out to buy a few bottles of hot sauces, all of which I have never tried before. Here they are arranged from $$$ to $. and after tasting them all... For taste (best to worst):Melinda's and Hooters tied, Crystal, Trappey's For heat (most to least): Hooters, Melinda's, Trappey's and Crystal tied Re: Pictures - Kirby - 03-24-2012 (03-24-2012, 09:03 PM)Käse link Wrote: As a heat aficionado, can you expand on the experience of the Hooters hot sauce? I iz curious. How's the flavor? Is it obliterated by heat, or does it have other qualities that can be tasted as well? What other ingredients besides Habanero does it list? Did they use any other peppers? I actually had some Melinda's when I was in Wisconsin over the geek.kon week (Damn being in the wrong area at the wrong time) and I found it quite pleasurable to eat, how far apart would you say the Hooters is from it in terms of hot? A few scoville's, or more like another step up on the chart? [/quote] Hooter's Ingredients: vinegar, habanero peppers, sugar, salt, lime juice, onion, garlic, natural flavoring(how vague) I guess what made me pick this sauce as the best tasting was because it was slightly sweet, which the others were not, so it definitely stood out. It tastes sweet at first, then immediately burns right after. The sweetness reminds me of the spicy mango habanero sauce at Buffalo Wild Wings in a way. If you don't like sweet hot sauces at all, I would not recommend it. I'm tasting the sauces again right now. The Hooters sauce is just a smidgen hotter than Melinda's. This might be enhanced by the acidity from the vinegar... Hooters is also less viscous compared to Melinda's. Easier to get out of the bottle comparatively (nothing beats the Crystal hot sauce though. I accidentally flooded my meal). I agree, Melinda's is really delicious. Nice hint of lime. Ahhh I have heart burn again. Sorry, you can't repeat a karma action without waiting 2 hours. Re: Pictures - at0m - 03-25-2012 Used to put Melinda's on the scrambled eggs I made en masse as outing cook for my Boy Scout troop, it was good times. Definitely tastier than Tabasco, can't really comment on the others though. Re: Pictures - KarthXLR - 03-25-2012 PICTURE TIME I went on a hike with my dad over spring break. Not a big one, but enough to fill a few hours. Also, my film shoot was today. One of my crew sent me this picture.
