Second Dylan Dog story was substantially better than the first.  By this standard the third one should be amazing.

I assume it's this one. I have it sitting on a bookshelf, never bothered to pick it up.

Aye, the style used is pretty amazing. It's like you're sitting in a massive leather chair, next to a hearth, and someone is telling you this old story, complete with personal asides.

Artemis Fowl is better than I had expected.  Having a children's librarian for a wife is exposing me to so many guilty pleasure reads.

Most recent one I have read is On Bullshit by H.G. Frankfurt. Good, small book but it is technically an essay. Talks about the misuse of bullshit and what really is bullshit. Pick it up if you want a good quick read.

I really enjoyed all of these... I like really easy reads especially when they actually have a fun/creative plot

I'm almost finished with the first book and seriously have no idea where it will go from here.  Guess the ending will solve that riddle.  Also I'm anxious to find out if Butler is OK.

Don't read any past the second one.  They start to get shitty.

It was probably mentioned by Surf or Ianki make that Bacon and fyre, god damn Cryptonomicon owns (I started it at some point last semester then got sidetracked with some stuff and only just now got back to it).

And even though it probably belongs in the comic book thread, I can't be bothered to find it right now, but Dark Knight was much better than Killing Joke. I honestly didn't think that much of Killing Joke tbh.

Have you read his other books? I'd go straight to Anathem if I were you.

Re: Books motherfuckers, do you read them? - Chaosye - 08-04-2009

Been reading Terry Prachett's books, reading Hogfather right now.

Just bought myself the first of the Dexter books. Will report back how it is once I start reading.

I got More Information Than You Require last week. Just as hilarious as the first one.

It's seriously effed up but good. Listened to it on audio book, made it more creepy somehow.
