the place i worked at did the exact thing, we don't fire people, we just "take the off the schedule." It's bloody retarded- we're in a fire at will state to begin with. Granted most of them are seasonal employees, who still try to file unemployment after working for 3 days.Â

Why don't you look for another job while employed at this one? If you aren't getting many shifts, then use that free time to look for other jobs. It may be better to look at this as just a temporary job until you can find a better one. I know job searching and interviewing is a pain in the ass, but wouldn't it be better to invest more time into finding a job you might like than stick with the shit you have to put up with now? Just my two cents.

Luin, I think I discovered the reason behind grade discrepancies. Teachers do some hard core skimming when grading a lot of papers. Also the teacher hated my paper.

had blood drawn on saturday, hurt like a bitch when she took the needle out- she pressed down way to hard, gave me the tinglies in that arm for most of the day afterward. Apparently the reason I've been feeling a little run down is because all the blood in my body has been draining into my forearm. I noticed I've got bruising and discoloration over like half of it today.Â

ive had friends take my exam in with theirs for comparison to the professor hoping to get him to explain the discrepancy with the grade. Their response?

Well, I got by blood drawn like an hour ago and it hurt like a bitch both in and out. Sure enough, I've got a little bruising.... Hopefully it won't be a complete repeat of your experience.

My mom asked me to cancel my Internship meeting with Farmer's Insurance, because my dad's workplace is being undermanned at this point.
Here are at least several projected reasons why she called me about this:
a) She lies to me and does not want me to work
b) She rather have me work for my dad, which I seriously hate
c) She wants me to work, except that the Internship is in San Mateo, which is about a 40 minute drive from San Jose
d) She believes that I cannot hold a job and decides to lie to me about my dad's workplace is undermanned
e) She wants me to only study, ensuring me that I have a good job. One problem, I want the damn discipline to hold that job.
f) She wants me to stay at home until I'm fifty
g) Because working with insurance is "too hard," which is a blatant misconception, because my dad is hard on his employee and she thinks that what most insurance companies do
h) She's telling the truth
This really pisses me off, but I cannot ignore family responsibility. I am inclined to believe my mom even though somewhere along the line it will be all a ruse in the end.
The same thing happens when I tried getting a job at a Chinese fast food restaurant and it was, to me, devastating (which maybe the wrong word).

Unless someone is dying, you can, I would take that internship that you earned in a heartbeat. However whats best is to treat it like a business decision, does your dad work at a more prestigious company and would it pay more.

My dad is working with a new insurance company, which might be Anchor, so the prestige is not up yet, but since I would work for my dad, I would probably earn more money than what I could earn from Farmer's.
At least Farmer's responded back to me, saying that they will consider me for the Summer internship, which is good. Got to keep those doors open.
