ROBITS The trailer looked nice and all, but it looks like they stripped out all of the satire and turned it into a super serious action movie, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's part of what made Robocop so good. On top of that, it's PG-13, so the action scenes will probably be tons of fast cuts. And it has four different writers listed so I'm thinking it was passed around a lot. Probably looking at a few action sequences sandwiched in between two hours of incoherent "drama." The cast is the only thing that might actually get me to see it. Re: The Movie Thread - A. Crow - 09-09-2013 I was surprised by the cast list. Re: The Movie Thread - at0m - 10-12-2013 Finally got around to watching Dredd. I was entertained. Re: The Movie Thread - loldollas - 10-12-2013 if you haven't seen Chinatown, you should. Jack Nicholson is neat. Re: The Movie Thread - Elder - 10-13-2013 watched fright night. For a newer vampire movie its actually not half bad, as the vampires are your traditional crosses burn, holy water bad, stake through the heart, cant come in unless invited MOTHERFUCKING VAMPIRES. The movie basically took Bram Strokers traditional story and vampire and made it into a bit more modern age telling of the story. Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 10-20-2013 I'm sure as most people already know, Gravity was really good. The long-takes are beautifully done and the performances by Bullock and Clooney are really solid. I loved the mother/daughter themes that played throughout the movie and I think the dialogue did a great job of avoiding stereotyped characters. Re: The Movie Thread - spm201 - 10-25-2013 Don Jon was not great 4/10, pretty boring. Re: The Movie Thread - spm201 - 12-02-2013 Watched Doubt and Moulin Rouge this week. Both 9/10 and that's not generally an easy rating for me to give out. Re: The Movie Thread - Hobospartan - 12-02-2013 Watched Dredd for the first time today. So very, very entertaining. Had no idea Lena Headey was the villain either. Man that was just a fun one to watch. Re: The Movie Thread - A. Pretty nice movie. Good songs, well-written, lots of stuff for kids and adults to enjoy. Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 12-05-2013 12 Years A Slave was a no-bullshit movie. Completely realistic all the way through and very difficult to watch at points. I jumped at a particular moment that struck me with horror. Phenomenal performances across the board and just heartbreaking at parts. Re: The Movie Thread - Squishy3 - 12-06-2013 frozen was really good, can kristen bell belt it or what Re: The Movie Thread - A. Crow - 12-06-2013 Grabbers Official Trailer It's on netflix. Go now. Re: The Movie Thread - A. Crow - 12-15-2013 No one's seen CumberSmaug? |
