Also, the problem with sniping is the patch they added years ago to counter speed hackers that had the side-effect of making warping 100x as bad as it was. Originally the netcode was solid as anything and people moved smoothly at max visible range. If you could get the shot travel time down over range you could make a killing but it was tricky and a hell of a lot of fun (I sniped as my primary fighting mode for the first few months of the game).
