It was most def slated to be a 360 title. though the last I heard about it was like a ago so I had assumed it got completely canned because MMO's just wouldn't work on the xbox.

edit: the last I had heard of it

Yea, it was rumored not to be and then the development team squashed the rumor. I don't feel like searching ign for the story, do it yourself if you need the source.

One thing I like about APB is you can arrest other players if you're a cop. I'm curious to see what they'd do for the criminal side. Executions maybe?

Holy shit this is a cops+robbers mmofps kind of game?  :o

Suddenly, I'm interested
[/quote]It will be epic win if the cops can also turn traitor, also would be cool if cops could go undercover as well, as well as the criminals being able to make their way into the police force. or just corrupt cops would be good too.

Criminals should also be able to make bogus tips up to plan an ambush for the cops.

Re: APB - Aerox - 06-08-2009

It's coming for the 360 too. This was confirmed at E3 - it's not in any official press release but the people on the show floor said it was definitely coming for 360, and probably for PS3 later as well.

Also, I didn't care about this, but after reading this I'm really intrigued.

I have now become incredibly interested in this game.  Now, should we BRBers go cops or robbers?

Re: APB - Wedge - 09-21-2009

Yeah finally seeing a gameplay trailer really turned me off.  This does look thoroughly like a console title with the shitty Gears-ish looking combat bullshit.  And cars always control better with analogue sticks too.  So... not sure wtf this is doing with PC as lead platform.  Concept is interesting I guess, but I can't imagine how the gameplay will be any good.

Re: APB - Chaosye - 09-21-2009

I have a feeling that just about everyone would want to play as criminals.
Which I would do :3

Then you can clean up as a cop.

yea, I agree the gameplay footage is giving my second thoughts. If it really looks and feels like I'm controlling the michelin man instead of an actual person I don't think it'll be much fun. Sad

I can't freakin wait.

Re: APB - Squishy3 - 10-21-2009

I didn't get in the beta but here's some info

Some cars take more damage, some less. (You can pimp your personal car with shields that protect you from different angles and such.)

It usually takes something like 2 SMG clips to blow one [car] up.

A nice touch for the rpg lovers out there are gear you unlock and buy depending on your play style, as a "Cop" you get improved handcuffs for example whilst a SWAT member gets better rams, a detective might get some diffuser thingymajing and some non lethal weapons.

Character custom. You get a bunch of clothes to choose from at the start, you then unlock stuff as you level and unlock achivements.

Radio. Play songs from your computer locally and the server will stream the same song from last.fm making sure everyone can listen in on your latest Britney Spears album (I did not add the Britney Spears album myself, I swear that's what it said when I copied it)

Custom music, you are able to make your own songs via a basic midi station, your songs then play whenever you kill anyone. (Or whenever you want, choose from a preset of triggers.)

Can I make it play this song whenever someone says a one-liner?
