I work most Sundays. I was not aware anyone (besides the Post Office) actually gave their employees this day off unless it was requested. (I could request to have the day off, but it's not company policy, we work sundays, 24 hours a day, and all holidays including Christmas)

Well I put the (Well most) in there for a reason. True that grocery stores, fast food, video stores, and certain other "convenience" places make you work Sundays but most "career" (take heed to the quotes) jobs don't make you work on Sunday. The last time I ever worked a Sunday was when I was a maintenance worker at our local Grocery Store. Every other crap job after that I had the weekend off or at least didn't work on Sunday.

Interesting bit about work loads and scheduling I learned a few weeks ago:
A single 5 day/week, 8 hour shift requires one person.
A single 4 day/week, 12 hour shift requires one person.
If you want a position available 12 hours, 5 five days a week, it requires two people with an overlap.
If you want a position available 12 hours, 7 days a week, it requires three people with rotating days off and over laps.
If you want a position available 24 hours a day, it requires three people, on rotation.
If you want a 24 hour position, 7 days a week, it requires FIVE people, on rotation to cover time off.
So if you run 8 hour/day shifts and drop from a 6 day work week to a 5 day work week, you can drop nearly 1/3 of your work force or if available, all your part time employees. That is a lot of cost savings.

In my defense I've been getting very little sleep and my linguistic skills goes to shit when I'm tired. I told some woman on the phone thank you for no reason today on the phone and couldn't figure out why afterwards :-[

In extreme tiredness periods, I do worse, like say "thanks, you too" to a waitress that wishes me "bon appétit".
