i use a copperhead and it's beast
i'm not gonna move to the lachesis yet because my current mouse is actually still working, despite the fact i took it apart and "cleaned" the lazor.

All I can really say is start with the entry-level i7 processor, it's great enough. Also, Samsung monitors are great quality but still not worth their usual price. But if you wanna shell out cash then do it. Same goes for two hard drives, although I've never tried a 10000rpm one. Finally you can definitely find a cheaper PSU of that wattage, even still modular.

EDIT: Obligatory self-rig post--i7 920, 6GB DDR3 1600, boring HDD, GTX 260. The whole thing costed me something like 1.5 grand.

Phenom 9500 (biggest fucking bottleneck, it absolutely refuses to overclock)
2x Radeon 4850s
1x 1TB HDD 4x 250GB HDD, all 7200RPM
6GB RAM, probably DDR2
24" Samsung
