Re: Paintball - liquid108 - 10-12-2009

I would definitely recommend a tippman A-5. I have one with a flatline barrel and the rate of fire and accuracy on that is quite a bit better than the 98. The only problem with the A-5 with a flatline is its sooo heavy like 8-10 pounds and when you play for an entire day, it can get pretty tedious. However if you are looking more to get into speedball, id say spyder would be the way to go or two Tiberius Arms, which is what i had. Quite the overkill but being badass in paintball is almost as important as the game itself.

speaking of badassness, one of my friends has one of these and its like the coolest thing ever, to use and to play with.

I have my tank on a remote attached to my back, I'm not really worried about the gun being heavy
i was actually looking at the flatline barrel and your statement just sold it for me for next year if we start playing

I'm more of an airsoft guy but Paintball is great too.

Just don't use the soft paintsballs, ever.

I've got a Tippman A-5 with a 16 inch carbon fiber barrel (quietest and lightest thing ever),

I have a pair of titanium barrels, they are paper thin and weigh something like 180g each.
They also shoot sparks if you get a bit of sand in your loader.

Mine was a 16 inch Stiffi.
under 2 oz in weight.

There is something called simunitions, and they hurt like hell.  They also beat the hell out of all the paintballing I've ever done Tongue
I think the reason I like paintball is because I might actually enjoy the real life military like it was a game.
Maybe it's all these years of gaming that have corrupted my mind, but I look at military situations and tactics in an enjoyable manner.

Airsoft interests me a lot now because of mgs 3.
SAA bitches.

Paintball would be cool too, but I'd much rather the airow gun.

Yes sir.
It's quite uncomfortable

Re: Paintball - ZargonX - 10-12-2009

I play at least once a year, but I don't own my own gun.  I much prefer playing in the wooded courses, or in faux villages/buildings.  I find speedball/airball really not that fun.

Re: Paintball - HeK - 10-12-2009

A while ago, some engineers found that for the .68 caliber paintball, there is no advantage to useing a barrel longer then 12 inches. Any longer and it will actually slow down your balls and you will loose accuracy.

Additionally, longer barrels make it harder to move about.

As nice as remotes are, having a tank attached to the back of your marker adds balance and when properly sized, allows for a more stable firing platform.

shoulder stocks are nice for a stable firing platform.
