While I agree that I usually shy away from 'gamer gear', I also wouldn't endorse something unless I owned it and thought it was legitimately a good product, and worth the price charged. Also, the mic is removable so you can use them as muffs wherever if you so choose, but anyone with muffs on in public is going to look like a tool, headset or no.

yea but at least theyll thing youre a trendy music snob instead of a fat, smelly, socially-inept gamer

I don't think taking the mic of your headset can change those two.

it helps if one has one of those 'big fucking things' covered in pringles and whataburger

Every thread here eventually degenerates to whataburger,  It's like some law of the universe.

<3 whataburger

fuckin' whataburger

Anyways, if you are going for the headphones + desktop mic combo, my recommendation would be those ridiculous Bose circumaural headphones. Yeah, they're overly expensive, but they were the best headphones I've ever owned (up until in a fit of briliance I stuffed them in my backpack)

$24.99 for the non-usb version, I use the USB one but yes it is very nice headset and price.

My $20 logitech headset just lost sound in the left ear phone. It's been partially broked for a few months, but now it really is "technically broken".

Bah.

It's been good for about a year and a half, so it's lasted much longer than anticipated.

My free Logitech headset that came with UT2K3 has been fine for the past seven years...
Aside from the cat stealing the foamy bit at the end of the mic.

Re: Reccomend me a good headset - zaneyard - 12-20-2009

yeah those things can take a beating
if it weren't for my need to listen to music with a little bit of bass, i would have bought another one

oh god i just realized my new headphones I got for my synthesizer can go in my computer if i take the 1/4" adapter off
my music will never be the same

fuck i wanna sit up and listen to music all night now

i have windows media player volume at 3
everything is still nice and clear

Re: Reccomend me a good headset - Versus - 12-20-2009

I think I have the same headset. I'll let everybody listening to my voice be the judge, but it seems to work just fine.
