Open Internet Explorer. Go to tools. Internet Options. Connections. LAN Settings. Uncheck Automatically Detect Settings.

Re: Shiny - Turtle - 02-24-2010

Hi guys i can't get on steam at all i think it has something to do with this right here

Re: Shiny - cbre88x - 02-24-2010

I guess I got lucky. the new UI works fantastic for me and has the exact same memory footprint as it did before.

Re: Shiny - copulatingduck - 02-24-2010

Re: Shiny - ainmosni - 02-25-2010

The best news of the beta is that there is no dependancy on IE anymore. They've switched it out with webkit.

Point being, this runs as fast as my normal browser. Webkit's such a huuge improvement.

yuss
i couldn't stand the dependency on IE
even though the internet settings control panel applet seems to affect the store page

Re: Shiny - at0m - 02-25-2010

They fixed the 'feature' I bitched about in the latest update to the beta client ^_^

Re: Shiny - HeK - 02-25-2010

So, does it log chat yet? Tongue

timestamps yes, log to disk, no. I wish it had scrollback though :/ too many times, someone messaging me caused me to crash restart. I never find out what it is they had to say.

Re: Shiny - copulatingduck - 02-26-2010

timestamps are super old tho, nothing new there. logging or just switching to a common chat protocol would be amazing, but I doubt that will ever happen. does xfire do logging, and does anyone know how it compares to steam chat?

It's glitchy and crashes all the time, and doesn't have a functional overlay. And noone uses it.

that's unfortunate. was wondering if it had been done better by anyone before, xfire is the only other in-game chat thing i can think of
