We can see the difference between something falling apart because it was assembled poorly and something falling apart because it was manufactured poorly.

The items my parents bought however long ago are not even sold there anymore. Nothing like them is sold there anymore. Sure, they built it better than the showroom builders would have, but that still does not excuse the poor quality we saw. Like I said, we're able to tell when something is shit beyond being assembled poorly.

To get back on topic for our man Korjax. Assuming that layout is roughly to scale, and your bed size is remaining the same:

Mind you its assuming everything is to scale you should free up all that wasted space you have at your dresser. Maybe invest in a window covering of some sort. I'm curious about how much use that closet gets.

versus?

Re: Need help on new desk/room furnishings - KorJax - 07-07-2010

That's an idea, though I don't like my computer being right where the door is located simply due to privacy... not that I need to hide anything but I like the idea of having the illusion of a more "private" computing space. I was thinking about an L-shaped desk where it's facing twoards the corner and part of the L is blocking the view to the door in that same spot?

I like the darker green color for the paint, and I HATE pastel colors (aka "easter" colors) that are typical with light paint color schemes. Is there a good reason why lighter paint is better than darker colors? I really like the whole "cozyness" that darker color paint brings.

Can I fap with your sister to her Hentai?

Doable but only you know the dimensions. I know corner desks aren't that big.

you could just close the door when you want to spankoff to your wallscrolls.

Just turn the desk sideways so when they walk in you see the back of the moniter

Re: Need help on new desk/room furnishings - KorJax - 07-07-2010

It's not about them seeing the monitor or anything but more of a superficial "comfort" thing with me. I feel to 'exposed' and open being in direct line of sight to the hallway :p

This is what happens when your mother is a neo-nazi controlling bastard as a teenager who did stuff like breaking your locks so you couldn't close your door, stare at you from the hall while you were in your room, etc

That's my current solution. It places a wall of screens and electronics between me and the door.

ikea is great for college students, just cuz you can get shit for cheap and it's not the end of the world if you dont want to burn a ton of money moving it later. plus since its cheap you dont feel bad modding the shit out if it. I think in my old college room I had upwards of 80 linear feet in just shelving, god i love shelves

I have to deal with wood paneling in my room (It's the only room in the house with it) because the house is over 40 years old, and the wood itself is actually expensive as shit lumber. I think it's pine, that was all custom cut for the room (Like trees were cut down for their logs, then the boards were made of of the logs).

And my two tone truck? She's fucking sexy. She's painted now, just gotta get the clear coat on her.

Okay sO

This:

Or this:

http://www.amazon.com/Southwestern-Home-Dynamix-Premium-Country/dp/B0007MXB9S/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=furniture&qid=1280766117&sr=1-4

The first one because of fuckin' wolves bitch, plus it'll match my carpet color (brown). The second because maybe I don't want attention brought to the brown in my carpet and the blue would "work" better with my green walls

Also furniture wise I am looking for a black color scheme so I thought about getting a black-dominated rug but decided against

Re: Need help on new desk/room furnishings - Geoff - 08-02-2010

wait..... rug on a carpet?
