Re: Better Antivirus? - at0m - 09-24-2010 I do a lot of software development on my PC, mostly for work. I've found that Symantec gives me the best protection, but lately it's been giving me a lot of issues when I'm compiling by locking files that it wants to scan and slowing down my compile sequence. Any suggestions on what AV I should use instead? Perhaps from another software developer? Reviews of that one with the robot on it say its pretty amazing, heard it blocks that "black internet" virus where others cant. Kaspersky: Jackie Chan - Kaspersky 2010 Antivirus Commercial avast and microsoft things are self explanatory Re: Better Antivirus? - at0m - 10-21-2010 OK so those are rated according to you, a tween, based solely on advertising. Re: Better Antivirus? - WaR1761 - 10-21-2010 I am running AVAST and have no complaints. Does its thing havn't had a virus or malware, but I think most viruses can be avoided with good web practices.... and letting your friends download torrents first.... lulz Re: Better Antivirus? - HeK - 10-21-2010 Having just participated in a computer espionage and defense exercise, I can now honestly say that MSE does dick all in the real world. Fucking red team, messing up my shit. Re: Better Antivirus? - at0m - 10-22-2010 I never expected it to be anything other than a placebo, honestly Re: Better Antivirus? - Vongore - 10-22-2010 i have avira and i hate how when it detects something, it doesn't say if the block was succesful or is just warning you. I loved Kaspersky .i really felt secure with it, with warnings everytime (even if they were dumb, like blocking key configuration for games), but it did showed up a lot more trojans than Avira is doing now :/ Re: Better Antivirus? - Kirby - 10-22-2010 I had Avira tell me a program I wrote was a trojan. It resizes Minecraft to 720p / 1080p / default sizes :-\ |
