I'm at like 53%. Thankfully I have LA Noire to play while waiting for this to download.

Re: The Witcher 2 - Surf314 - 05-17-2011

Game is good, a little bit buggy but nothing terrible. I do wish they would stop putting things for me to read on the right of the screen when shit that is trying to kill me is going down though.

Re: The Witcher 2 - SAVAGE-0 - 05-17-2011

anyone else find the combat extremely difficult in the first segments..? I'm so damn lost as to how to kill 5 guys at once here... I didn't play 1, so I dunno if it would be easier if I knew wtf I was doing - never thought I'd say this, but no tutorial is killing me!

also - Hi, law school's over! I'll be around more often.

I had my ass handed to me in the dragon part, but I picked it first which I learned was a terrible idea. So I restarted the game and then did the prologue in order.

Pretty pissed at amazon/ups right now - I ordered release day delivery and its 8:30pm... and I've still not gotten my copy.

Looking at the tracking code says the package hasn't even entered my state yet. Doubly sucks considering I'm going to be busy the next two days and ttoday was my day to play...

[/quote]That's ok, you'd be no better off if you ordered it on Steam. My download literally finished only 4 hours ago and I can't even run it with everything on low. Sad Too bad I'm not getting paid enough to manage to pay bills and upgrade my rig at the same time. Oh well, should be able to afford it sometime next year.

Re: The Witcher 2 - Surf314 - 05-19-2011

I want to love this game but I keep having so many bugs. Should I go back and play the first and wait for them to fix them?

Re: The Witcher 2 - Squishy3 - 05-19-2011

Played it on the computer at work that can run it better than mine and had a hilarious bug. One of the enemies raised his sword behind him for an overhead slice and he started spinning around in circles while doing it. Made me laugh.

The queen got stuck with no head and her arms outstretched for me. Also I had an enemy guard pop into existence right next to me. The combat gets a little bugged sometimes too. The game seems great I just feel like I'm playing a late beta. I'm really tempted to do what I said and just go back and finish the first one while waiting for a big patch. I never got to play the enhanced version.

Re: The Witcher 2 - KorJax - 05-19-2011

Anyone find the Assassin's Creed cameo? Pretty funny, you walk up to the corpse of an assassin who missed a hay bale and Geralt goes "Hmm..." then you get the "Assassin" skill (25% damage boost from behind).

Copy still hasnt arrived, I made up for it by aquiring it through other means...

This probably means I get a refund from Amazon which is cool, assuming I don't get it sometime tonight. Which is unlikely since my package has gone all around the middle of the US before they decided to enter my state as of a couple hours ago.

Game is hard as piss. I love the tactile feel of the combat and how you feel like you really have to master it to become godly, its just marred by the fact that it has literallly one of the worst tutorials ever that doesn't explain anything about the gameplay, tactics on how actually to survive the combat, etc. I hear it gets much better later on though once you learn the nuances and when your character actually gets powerful.

I posted it in here on the last page, but it was a Kotaku link as it wasn't on YouTube when I looked.

Re: The Witcher 2 - KorJax - 05-23-2011

Am I the only one who has this game? I'd think there would be more hype for it here. Honestly its easily one of my favorite games to come out this year, pretty much beats the pants off anything released in recent memory. Very few games provide the sense of nostalgic adventure that makes me not want to stop playing that this game has, and I'm not even through Chapter 1 yet (I hear it gets better too).

Re: The Witcher 2 - Spore - 05-23-2011

I preordered it, but I'm still playing through the first game.

Just got to Chapter 4.

Re: The Witcher 2 - Spore - 05-23-2011

Nearing the end of Chapter 3 here. I'm taking over a dozen hours per chapter.

Re: The Witcher 2 - Vandamguy - 05-23-2011

playin it in bits and pieces , level 7 now , so just starting out but it's got a good feel for being nonlinear and a fair amount of depth with the crafting / equipment

Re: The Witcher 2 - Spore - 05-23-2011

Jim Sterling gave Witcher 2 a 6/10 so it must be a bad game.

Misread it as Rod Sterling, was almost pumped.
