Re: Dota 2 - Eschatos - 08-04-2011

I was hoping they wouldn't just recreate the exact same game with more maps/modes.  Oh well.

Re: Dota 2 - Spore - 08-04-2011

It's rumored that Dota 2 will not be free to play? That's crazy talk. Why would Valve not go F2P?

and with that, you're going back to LoL, which is a recreation of DotA but severely casual-ized? i hope not, because this game you're getting the original plus more as dota always updates with balancing and new heroes.

A: I do not have accurate information on this subject, but probably no more than $ 30.

Q: microtransactions in Dota 2 will be?

A: No, it will be a free game. Buy and play.

Because creating a new hero every other week is way better.

I refuse to believe it on the grounds that it doesn't make sense.

Looks like it will be easy to just sit down and watch a game.

not even close look at the creep camps and stuff

Re: Dota 2 - Kor - 08-14-2011

I'm not sold, not if their going to have the same roster. Two thirds of their roster was worthless at higher level play, and arguments could be made for that number being closer to the same 10-12 champs.

There is something to be said about recreating a game and not even solving the old problems.

That UI better not go gold >.>

when was the last time you played dota on wc3? you do realize it has gone through at least 70 changes since 6.00, and thats not even counting the small bug fixes or small balances in between those. plus, in dota you rarely see the same team twice and even if you do, its never a guaranteed win. your arguments is worthless considered that dota and soon to be dota2 is never a finished game. by recreating the same game with a new engine and graphics design, im sure icefrog will be able to do way more stuff with balance and everything considering that for the longest time was limited to the wc3 engine.

this is a comparison screenshot of roughly the same spot on the map (except LoL) (OH BTW, according to people close to the project, the pictures released were 4 months old). just throwin that out there since everyone is gonna be critiquing now

Re: Dota 2 - Squishy3 - 08-14-2011

So who wants to bet that Dota 2 is released right after the tournament is finished?

Spoken like a true fanboy, Chief. I can picture the tears when you typed this up.

When was the last time anyone played DotA when it was still relevant?

[/quote]whats your next comeback? "u mad?"

dota is still relevant. maybe not to north america as a whole, but all around the world people still play that game, through garena, iccup, other servers, and multiple bot hosts for some stupid reason on bnet. its obvious you havent played the wc3 for quite some time either. why try to argue the game isnt balanced properly at any level of the game when you dont even truly know?
