game owns.

performance-wise, runs much better than black ops, possibly runs better than mw2.

Is the story just as controversial and twisted as the last game? Think I saw something about a daughter and her parents having a family moment then gets blown up in a van bomb explosion.

Any more friendly nukes fired at washington?

Re: COD: MW3 - Dr. Zaius - 11-08-2011

I pity the fool who buys this game.

Re: COD: MW3 - Maxon - 11-08-2011

360 rental.  Nice to hear they didn't shit out a port like they did with the last two games, but so far, it's not all that amazing of a game.  It's better than MW2, but that's not saying much when that one was downright horrid lol

Re: COD: MW3 - Bonesinger - 11-08-2011

Pubbies are still as mad as ever about loosing. Good game would play with goons again A+++++++++++++

Re: COD: MW3 - Versus - 11-08-2011

reposting someone else's post in the SA thread

If you don't like the fundamental CoD arena-style gameplay, you still won't like it.

The killstreak system has been completely overhauled into a pointstreak system and allows for more playstyles and encourages objective play. No more painkiller deathstreak, which makes things unfriendly for inexperienced players vs. a good team.

The weapons have all been rebalanced around the removal of stopping power, and unlocks are now done through weapon levels instead of specific challenges. You can quickscope effectively in this game, but there are a lot of tight corridors and cover in most of the maps.

Perks have been rebalanced, shuffled around, some moved to weapon proficiencies, etc. No more Last Stand at all. From what I've played every perk is useful to some degree. Assassin Pro is nice but there are some other good choices in that slot. We'll see if everyone settles into a perk like Stopping Power from MW2 or Ghost/Flak Jacket from Blops but it looks promising so far.

Explosives are toned down a bit, but the removal of Danger Close takes most of the teeth out of them. They're still useful for objective games. Most of the action will be gun-on-gun though.

One of the biggest changes is what seems to be a change in map design philosophy. MW2 and Blops to mostly stuck with 3 main corridors with interconnections between the corridors. The MW3 maps are more open in general and seems to be more hublike in design.

Two new ranked gamemodes and extensive options for private matches and for the unranked dedicated servers.

Party management is easier, since the entire party can back out of a lobby at once.

Theater mode from Blops has been added, with some tweaks. Can't seem to go into 1st person for players other than yourself for some reason, but it's still welcome.

There's a few other changes I noticed but I can't think of them right now.

Re: COD: MW3 - Maxon - 11-08-2011

If by overhauled, they mean they just put the killstreaks into two different loadouts for them, support letting all kills count towards the streak, even after dying, no streak loss, and assault being the usual fair I believe.  It really doesn't affect the game very much other than there are alot more UAV's now because the Support loadout is easy points.

Best thing I've seen is that there is no more Ghost perk, just one that allows you to not be seen by choppers and sentries, so that UAV overkill doesn't lead to everyone using Ghost like the past games.

Re: COD: MW3 - Versus - 11-08-2011

there's assassin

also specialist owns so much i'm not even bothering with support or assault

Re: COD: MW3 - Maxon - 11-08-2011

I see it now, that's disappointing.  I think that one is gonna get over-used pretty much as the rest in it's perk list I don't think are nearly as useful, since the game has so many UAV's going off.
