Here's the idea I had:


We gather up a small cache of supplies (food, ammo, etc) and drop it in a vulnerable position (a crossroads or forest clearing or something). Then we wait for someone to find said cache, then when they stop to pick the supplies up, we kill them and take their supplies.

I don't know if this a viable strategy or if it's even possible with the game mechanics but if it is, it'd be stupidly fun to poach pubbies.

This is why my first goal is to find a sniper rifle.

Also, it's a small touch, but I like how when a person talks in voice chat..the avatar representing them moves their mouth accordingly.

just found a hunting rifle. Also if you drop a flare in a building somewhere in a town, players will bum rush over there. Makes it easy to hunt the humens.

Ok, so I fired this up for the first time. Spent around 10 minutes running around in the dark before I happened upon a farm area.

"hey, i'm going to go look in that barn over there. Maybe there's a map or something"

just a heads up, they pushed a new version recently and most the servers are bugged. loot and zombies are either not spawning or barely spawning.

Day 53

I've been wandering longer than I thought possible, after the first disaster hit. I thought things were quiet then, but... Now the world truly does seem to have ground down to a halt. Some days, I wonder if it's just spinning backwards.

Haven't wandered across any other survivors for at least ten days. At first I panicked, missing the company of other human beings. Then, even the groans and shuffles of the undead were enough to act as a strange kind of company. But now, so far into what I can only think of as the end of all things, even those parodies of a life I had once are very few and far between.

Before it all happened I couldn't wait for the world to burn. Then all I wanted to do was survive. Now... I'm not so sure I can handle a world where there's nothing but me.


Day 55

Haven't found supplies for days now. What happened to everything? There's no one left to consume those last few cans of beans that I was sure was lurking in the next town.

It seems like all the food has just up and disappeared with all the people.

If I die, will I become one of them?

I've found another old town, this one along the sea. As I've come to expect, no one and nothing awaits me here, either. I'm laying in the ruin of what was surely once a summer palace, watching the water swallow the sun. I feel so tired.

If I go to sleep... Will I be there when I wake up?

There was a bug overnight, people were respawning as birds and all you could do was fly around. There was a big running joke on the official forums about how quickly this turned in to Bird Simulator.

So I downloaded and installed this.  First life I died within 10 minutes when I found a corpse and got shot while looting it.  Second life I fell into a bay and got raped by swimming zombies.  Third life I got lucky and found a bandit looting a corpse, so I shot him in the face and took his shit.  Right now I got a winchester and a bunch of random gear in a farm north of Cherno.
