Oh man, I always just thought I was missing the context.  That makes so much more sense.

You and about 4 million people are thinking the same thing.

Can't wait for Renegade Spider-Lin. It's got to be about time we see some Airbending out of Korra, unless their saving that in lieu of Avatar State shenanigans.

Re: The Legend of Korra - StolenToast - 05-31-2012

So I started watching and I liked it.  But I feel like i'm missing tons of stuff, and whenever I tell people I haven't seen Avatar they literally flip shit like I'm some cave-nazi.  So I think I might watch the original series and let this one buffer.

Yea you really are missing out, the original series is one of the best animated series I've seen.

The only thing I remember about that cartoon is everyone had giant foreheads. And there was some Matrix ripoff machine.

Never watched code lyoko so cant comment but I can tell you what wakfu has :
  • Plucky hero that shoots portals
  • adventurers having ADVENTURE in a fantasy world
  • A very well done tragic villain
  • "The whole show is completely kid-friendly, since the target audience is 8-10 years old, but tons of jokes are aimed directly at older audiences and fans of the game, is full of Fanservice, and the plot itself matures enormously."

The only thing is that its in french and some people hate subtitles but if you can get over that its a great series.

Not really. I'd compare it more to Avatar, which is why I recommended it here. Although it does poke fun at the RPG genre at times.
