Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - TOH - 11-13-2012 I can offer my name up for it. Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - kaese - 11-13-2012 I still don't know what this panel is going to be about. What are you planning to talk about? A note: bashing of everything (weapons etc) in the game is not suggested as it will alienate the people in the audience who actually enjoy using those weapons. But, I'm up for it as previously stated if you have a plan of what the panel will be about. I need to specify who they are though. Furthermore, having this badge means you have to be on the panel: "All listed panelists for a specific panel must take part in performing the panel. Anyone not performing in the panel they are registered for will have their applied panel badge discount revoked." I'll finish the application tonight. I'll try to get in touch with people who might be on the panel & haven't registered already (no discount is given to those who already reg'd). Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - k0ala - 11-20-2012 Oh we can participate from the peanut gallery? In. Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - Eightball - 12-26-2012 Request submitted. Plan is for it to be 90min long, be on Friday or Saturday, and to be in a place that could ideally seat 45-50. Now to wait for a rejection! Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - CaffeinePowered - 12-27-2012 (12-26-2012, 10:41 PM)Eightball link Wrote: Request submitted. Uh, can you edit that to be 60...90 is extremely long for a pannel Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - TOH - 12-27-2012 (12-27-2012, 07:55 AM)Caffeine link Wrote: [quote author=Eightball link=topic=6600.msg259296#msg259296 date=1356579684] 90? I drafted a quick outline, and I anticipate that 90min should actually be quite simple. 10min here for introductions, 10min there talking about the history of TF2, 45min to talk about weapons, maps, hats. If you insist that 90min is too long though, I'll email them. Trust me on that, people always talk faster in front of an audience, and no 'history' of TF2, we introduce ourselves and then start taking audience participation. Re: Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - Eightball - 12-27-2012 All right, I'll email them with the revision. Any other changes? Currently have HeK and Caff as panelists, but asked for a setup for 5 panelists. Theater style seating, didn't request a video projector or sound system. Sent from my Android using Tapatalk EDIT: Sent the request for revision. Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - Eightball - 01-28-2013 Soo, I checked the google group today and noticed that the panel "Hats, Maps, and Killin' Bad Dudes: A TF2 Panel" was approved. I was thrown because our panel is called "Hats, Maps, and Crabspies: A TF2 Panel". I thought this was a suggested revision by the con staff, but the document read that it was approved prior to December 8th. We submitted ours on December 26th. Furthermore, my ACEN login says that my panel request (which still bears the name I came up with) is still "pending". So. Either there's some really massive error on their end, or someone else registered a TF2 panel with almost exactly the same name a month earlier. If this is the case, I'm going to cancel the panel to avoid redundancy. I've already emailed them asking what's going on, but I have never, ever heard any correspondence from ACEN staff since submitting. They're pretty fucking awful about that, and I'm wondering if that's symptomatic of ACEN staff being generally disorganized (making the first possibility I suggested feasible). Anyway, I'm going to wait a week or two for their response. If they don't get back to me by then, I'm canceling the panel anyways because I don't want the headache of working with ACEN staff anymore. Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - CaffeinePowered - 01-28-2013 Yea, just email the head of panels, but if you have to CC like the director or something for clarification Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - CorpseFactor - 01-28-2013 Fun teims? Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - Eightball - 02-13-2013 Panel's cancelled! After two weeks and repeated attempts at establishing correspondence (including contacting other departments), I feel like I'm dealing with medical school admissions again. Never got any word regarding the other TF2 panel, nothing regarding our panel's status, and no replies to any emails, of which I sent 4 or 5. I question our community interest in the panel (since less than half of our attendants are active TF2 players), I'll be minding my college friends, and I personally do not want anything more to do with ACEN staff. So we'll have to be content with the 99 other things we'll be doing at ACEN this year. _.-={[noob`down]}=-._ Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - Versus - 02-13-2013 ripped Re: ACEN TF:2 Panel - at0m - 02-13-2013 Cue finding out that the one on the schedule is actually us, get banned from ACEN for being no-shows to our own panel. |
