Re: Battlefield 4 (and BF3) - Goffin - 08-24-2013

within my origin game directory I now have BF4 beta which was added on the 21st.  I assume I have it due to me dropping coin on bf3 and being a premium member Smile

I used to play Battlefield but I don't anymore.

Re: Battlefield 4 (and BF3) - FlyingMongoose - 08-26-2013

A lot of people quit when they made it origin exclusive, but at least it's not the ea download manager anymore. That thing was awful.

Re: Re: Battlefield 4 - Elder - 09-20-2013

Ill probably be running in the beta for the time being, since I spent the money on premium I might as well make some use of it

Re: Battlefield 4 - FlyingMongoose - 09-20-2013

If the beta is anything like its predecessors, it will most likely not offer servers to rent for the beta, but official servers to play on (a lot easier to iron out the bugs when you're the ones running the servers).

Re: Battlefield 4 - FlyingMongoose - 10-01-2013

Exclusive Beta is Live until the 4th, then the non-exclusive beta starts until the 14th. Then the full game release that day.

On the 14th brb'u will have a BF4 server.

Note the BF4 server will be a 64 player server, it will be maximum scale, and a full map rotation, running conquest mode, it will be hosted in Chicago, from nfoservers.com if anyone wishes to help pay for this server you can do so with this link:
https://www.nfoservers.com/donate.pl?force_recipient=1&recipient=lane@tunedchaos.com I am most likely going to do a 3 or 6 month chunk payment. If Procon becomes available for it I'll be using a procon layer host as well...

Opinion on the beta:
I've only been able to play it on my laptop which is a 2nd gen core i5, 8GB of DDR3, and a 1GB AMD Radeon 7670M GPU, it has some graphical glitches, and is a bit laggy, but it is also a build that wasn't even the build they used for presentations at E3 or Gamescom, so I expect more at retail release. The most important aspect, the gameplay, is quite solid and enjoyable. Commander mode is not yet available, but once it is I will have an opinion on that. The live-map overview feed via the tablet app or a second computer is quite useful and cool (and I wish PS2 did that, but they have a limited view). Spectator mode works fine, but it shouldn't be considered a "new feature" though what is nice is that commander players and spectators do not take up slots of the playing players, so a 64 slot server could technically be considered a 69 slot server (1 commander and 4 spectators)

Re: Battlefield 4 - CorpseFactor - 10-10-2013

Amazon'd it, see you guys on the Eve of Hallow's Eve(Hurrdurrjoke)

Re: Battlefield 4 - FlyingMongoose - 10-11-2013

Sweet, I'll see you in game then.

Re: Re: Battlefield 4 - Elder - 10-11-2013

Wont be buying this straight out of the gate. (If at all) Beta was lacking, and I don't feel like it will be a game I want to sink time into at this point.
