Map was worthless in addition to everyone shouting and being loud.

This. I'm gonna go give it a low rating.

edit: I think FNF needs a major overhaul.

The map was funny, at least on my opinion

The best part was the Pickup... AND NO ALLTALK!

Re: FNF 2008-10-17 - Worlds Collide Edition - Squishy3 - 10-18-2008

yeah, this map is so awful. that or red team just sucked each time.

Re: FNF 2008-10-17 - Worlds Collide Edition - Versus - 10-18-2008

it was the exact same situation when teams switched after BLU won. :Smile

Re: FNF 2008-10-17 - Worlds Collide Edition - ConsFEARacy - 10-18-2008

"Are you ready to go
Cause I'm ready to go
What you gonna do baby baby
Are you going with me
Cause I'm going with you
It's the end of all time"

I didn't get to play on the strider map, but made it afterwords. Still fun!

Re: FNF 2008-10-17 - Worlds Collide Edition - [fr31ns]Karrde - 10-18-2008

Yeah, dunno what they were smoking on FPS banana to give this map such a good rating.

1. Strider has a shield.
2. Strider can onlt be hurt from behind.
3. It's easier for BLU to get behind RED.
4. If RED gets behind BLU, they tend to suffer instadeath ™
5. The clutter in the streets, while it looks like City 17, you get hung up on it.
6. Even if you do everything right, the Strider can take an ass ton of damage.  We were hitting it just to see what it takes.  I dumped an entire load of stickies and an entire set of heavy round into it.  Others were rocketing it, etc.  It took us about 3 min, uncontested, to kill the damn thing.  Lets just say that killing the Strider is not a viable option.

that can be fixed with All Talk off and.. new password (and no invites 9_9) if we can assure that it won't be like a day care, a lot of regulars would fill the server

Re: FNF 2008-10-17 - Worlds Collide Edition - Honest - 10-18-2008

Pretty much because people kept talking at the same time (Not really intentionally, it just kind of kept happening) which comes from A) All Talk and B) Having a server full of people who like to speak their mind.  I guess no alltalk would solve this but I dunno, I like alltalk. It's just hard to get people to not talk over each other.

Also that dodgeball-esque Team captains thing was a good idea. Needs moar of this on fnf.

We used to do pickups every FNF and they were great. We also did RPS matches too and if there was anything more fun than those I'd like to hear it. Now FNF is the same as any other night of TF2 except there is a new map at the beginning of the event that once played is never, ever seen again on the server. If you go to Gametracker you will notice that the days when the least players on average are on the server is Tuesdays and Fridays... What? Of course, there was also that magical time when people would scramble to get on FNF and it would be full up for hours. Well if the server even manages to fill up by the beginning of the event it slowly dies down within 30 minutes to an hour. I guess when some admins decided having fun wasn't fun for FNF it simply began to go downhill.

Re: FNF 2008-10-17 - Worlds Collide Edition - cbre88x - 10-18-2008

Admins enforcing no dumbshit rules would help. Also, some admins could stop acting like pubbers (see Benito's thread about a fun map where I rant about some admin dumbshit randomly).

Re: FNF 2008-10-17 - Worlds Collide Edition - ZargonX - 10-18-2008

I'd suggest that we keep new maps for TFT, and do Pick-Ups, RPS, Fatkid, etc, on FNF right off the bat.

On top of that, once we vote on a map and a mode, if what you wanted didn't win, don't keep complaining about it.  It's ridiculous that as soon as we have an RTV to switch maps, someone immediately initiates a new one while people sit there and bitch and moan about what they wanted.  Just enjoy whatever won, and if you really can't stand it, leave and come back later.

Some admins have had their adminpowres taken away temporarily until they can proove thenmselves mature again, action has been taken mate dont worry.

Re: FNF 2008-10-17 - Worlds Collide Edition - Vongore - 10-18-2008

i still say, the funniest part of this FNF was the Pickup without All talk on..

Admins should disable it on FNFs and TFTs, because, even if Scotty was complaining a lot, and in a bad way, i agree with him, that i wanted to play on a relaxed while, while hearing you talk, one by one. No All Talk fixed that

Also, i've never seen a Dustbowl last point taken so quick due to strategies made out without the other team knowing

No. Having All talk on is part of the fun in the servers.
Imagine being dead... and... you are the only one in your team dead. You are alone. Alone in the after life for... 10 seconds? 15? Maybe more! Imagine 20 seconds not being able to talk to anyone, all alone in your world.
That's why we have alltalk on... That and because we are friendly and we like to hear other people and to talk to them.

Yes, but people following the rules in the first place would help more...
FNFs are there to fool around, fooling around people fooling around is bound to happen anyways...
