If that is the case, which I think it ought to be, then you standing still and not double jumping is a good enough trade off for stunning an enemy. You probably aren't going to use this as often in a more spread out map. These updates are meant to make scout a viable option in areas he couldn't do anything before in. Re: HEY LOOK SCOUT UPDATE ON THE 24TH - Wedge - 02-17-2009 I think it's potentially interesting, though not at all what I expected from a melee weapon replacement. It basically sounds like a weapon to try and make Scout's useful on maps they normally are difficult to be effective with, by totally changing how the class plays. Also it sounds like it will be full of teh epic bugs. Also I hope other Scouts can hit the ball back. Also Pyro's can probably reflect it which will be much lulz. Re: HEY LOOK SCOUT UPDATE ON THE 24TH - Surf314 - 02-17-2009 After thinking about it, it will help balance the scout a bit.  He gets creamed super quick in any map or section of a map where there is a bottleneck and can have trouble on CP maps because he just has to sit there vulnerable.  The scout is only safe while moving.  This will probably round him out more.  It seems like it would really change his playstyle though.  He'd be far more effective for harassment defense and for CP maps.  It wouldn't be useful for CTF maps though. The only thing I'm not comfortable with is being able to stop ubers.  Scout is not a defensive class, he is a scout.  When used for D his job is to call out enemy locations and to waste the enemies time, maybe pick a couple off.  He shouldn't be hanging out by the sniper to pick off ubers.
