I didn't know that you could reflect a jarate.

I still wish you could reflect needles.

Can reflect baseballs and arrows too.

I wonder if you can reflect thrown sandviches now too, even though that would be completely pointless...

Kritz is effective when using it with a sniper because of the SMG.  It has a high rate of fire, fast reload, and when kritzed kills things very fast.  I usually kill more things with kritz as sniper than I do with kritz as soldier, because everyone dodges krit rockets.

Re: Kritskreig - Not just Situational Anymore - Odin - 11-29-2009

Kritz tends to only be really really powerful when used with a) someone you know, b) someone you can communicate with quickly (mics needed), and c) team support.  Unless you have all three of these things you'll likely end up kritzing the dopey mute heavy who can't watch his back and has a phobia for stying nearby his teammates.  And you will die, a lot.  But when done with a friend who knows how to defend you and can signal incoming enemies, kritz can wipe a whole team.

Pretty much all of that applies to regular über as well.

True but regular uber requires less teamwork.  If you're invincible and you get flanked, hey you might luck out and your partner might see them and kill them.  But if you're kritzing and you get flanked, say goodbye to your life, and watch your clueless heavy get backstabbed by a kukri-wielding sniper maniac while he aimlessly fires at the demoman 100 yards away.

In general though, ubers need people to follow them, since they'll be leading a charge. If someone is under an ubercharge, they can draw sentry fire and such while a demoman takes it out with a few stickies. Everyone else should focus on pushing towards the point/payload.

Re: Kritskreig - Not just Situational Anymore - Tricks - 12-10-2009

There is not a single situation where an Uber is better than a Kritz. The one dependant is the players on your team. If I have a fantastic solider or demoman on my team (liquid or Eightball for example), the amount of offensive and defensive capability is nearly endless.

The only valid argument I’ve heard against Kritz is an Uber-counter. You can’t do any damage to them, and you are basically rendered useless and are forced to retreat. I disagree with this approach though, because you are controlling when they uber. Depending on the mode of play, controlling your opponent’s Uber/Kritz can mean victory; particularly in Scrim play where the build-time for another Kritz can be prohibitive.

I still think that ubers can be useful, but the majority of the time I am using them it is because I don’t have a player skilled enough to truly monopolize on a Kritz. If you go out and watch scrim replays, nearly all medics go Kritz with an above-average demoman for pushes.

hehe, one of my competitive soli friends comes and plays with us on the servers, and is absolutely deadly with a pocket and a kritz

Re: Kritskreig - Not just Situational Anymore - K2 - 12-10-2009

Nowadays it seems to me that the only time a regular Über has a big advantage over Kritz is taking out huge sentry nests, and even then a Kritz works just as well with a Spy or two and some good timing.
