Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - [SiN] Merc - 09-04-2010 One bug I wish they had kept was the dead ringer taunt. That was about the only way I could effectively kill with the knife fencing. Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - Chief - 09-04-2010 Quote: Merc link=topic=4960.msg172492#msg172492 date=1283582407]fixed Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - EarthlingJohn - 09-04-2010 One time on Gravelpit, the final point was heavy blocked. I knew our team couldn't win so i just went around stabbing people. When i got to the top of the spire, Razzle Dazzle was jumping off, and i followed in pursuit. I STABBED HIM MID AIR YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - Live-Free-Or-Pie - 09-04-2010 DID YOU KNOW THAT? The Spy has a revolver, it goes pew pew pew NOW YOU KNOW /nye the science guy Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - Kirby - 09-04-2010 I hate revolver spies, full clip wreaks havoc, and is p.much > shotty. Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - [SiN] Merc - 09-04-2010 Revolver is such an underapprecated weapon. 45 damage as baseline, with a ramp up to 60 a pop, kills an untended level 3 sentry in one clip from any range, and is the third most accurate gun in the game. *Other two of course being sniper rifle, and then the ambassador.* Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - EarthlingJohn - 09-04-2010 #1 revolver spy. I fail at accuracy though >.> Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - PyroZombie - 09-05-2010 I don't know I favor the ambassador compared to the normal revolver. That headshot crit is too useful in a fight where you know you can't backstab someone but you can still get the drop on them. That headshot crit is too useful in a fight where you know you can't backstab someone but you can still get the drop on them. That's the exact reason I've been using the ambassador lately. A straight up fight Revolver is better, and makes a wonderful escape tool, but the Ambassador is such a good utility weapon that I feel like I'm not using the spys full potential if I don't get proficient with it. Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - HeK - 09-05-2010 Except for the headshots, the ambassador lacks in every aspect. Even the headshot does less damage then the revolver's crit. Ive been trying to use it more, but the problem is, the headshot does 109 damage, not enough to outright kill any class that is full health, and the non crit shots do a measly 10 - 30 damage, meaning against anything not a scout, you're pretty much fucked unless you are able to pull off two headshots in a row with someone breathing down your neck Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - HeK - 09-05-2010 (09-05-2010, 09:46 PM)Caffeine link Wrote:
Ive been trying to use it more, but the problem is, the headshot does 109 damage, not enough to outright kill any class that is full health, and the non crit shots do a measly 10 - 30 damage, meaning against anything not a scout, you're pretty much fucked unless you are able to pull off two headshots in a row with someone breathing down your neck
If it were boosted to the same 120 dmg that the revolver crits at, it would be more balanced. It is very difficult to follow up a headshot with any body shots to drop a foe. The nice thing about it though is that that's any range. Got a paranoid engie to take care of? Skip the middleman, and just crack him twice in the skull from far away. It works wonders for that kinda thing. Although I kinda disagree that it needs to do 125 or up on a crit. Two shots seems fair, as you don't wanna overstep into sniper territory. I would kill for a speed increase though. Having to wait for 2/3rds of the reload animation for a headshot is bothersome. Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - Negate - 09-06-2010 Maybe you weren't around when the ambassador had no cool down for headshots but even as a spy it was ridiculous. You were basically a sniper with cloak.
yes but A mild bit necessary. they can't remove it or the weapon becomes too powerful. What I miss the most about the old ambassador was its ability to pierce things. Engie being a wimp behind his toys? BAM! YOU DAMAGE THE BUILDING AND HIM IN ONE GO! Two snipers right by each other? SLAM JAM THANK YA MA'AM! MOAR POINTS FOR LESS AMMO! Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - Versus - 09-06-2010 piercing kind of owned Re: The Spy thread for Devious Cunning. - [SiN] Merc - 09-07-2010 (09-06-2010, 09:00 PM)Versus-pwny- link Wrote: piercing kind of owned Listen to this man, chilllldren!
