Don't reply and add to the fuel though, it is amazing however, how such a small group of people can do so much to wreck a website, thank god they don't write for it, at least theres still some good writers and articles, but for the love of god break the ban hammer out of it's box.
I'll make the FNF post as usually with a few debunking points attached, like how someone's sarcasm detectors are clearly broken, and that maybe just because the site doesn't look or function as good as it used to doesn't somehow cause the writers to start writing junk. Either way I'll make the FNF post this week, if Grim delists it then I'll probably stop posting it. (Hint Hint lurkers, make sure to screen shot this out of context, and with sarcasm detectors set to 0) Heck Ill even include that in the post - instead of flaming this, if you don't want this here, trying contacting Grim instead.

And for a while I thought that Destructoid was better than the rest of the internet... What happened? Just a few months ago most of the c-blog posts were interesting and there was very little trolling. I really wish that some of the editors could help settle disputes like this.Â

We emailed Neiro, not just people here, but roughly 40, 45 people, Id have to go look the list up again, many of them the top cblogers on the site about trolling and the lack of administrative action. In response CTZ posted new rules, but Ive never seen anyone actually penalized because of said rules.
Had a discussion with Dexter345 the other day about this, its almost a kind of selective admining, if you've been on the site long enough, feel free to troll both new members and old, you have nothing to fear and we won't ban you, no matter what you do. Even the comments on my cblog, if you had made them on any other gaming, news site, or what have you, it would probably be a ban. Even on dtoid, if you posted that kind of stuff in a front page article, you'd run the risk of a ban as well.
Just my 2 cents (screen shot, they just may appreciate in value over time)

I would reply in a sensible manner but I'm not quite sure how exactly I would do it. I know I'm new to brbu and don't understand the drama fully, but I get enough of it that I know what's going on and everything. Plus I'd probably just be adding to the flames if I did respond. I just like that they yell at you guys for still coming to the community even though you supposedly hate it. I had the same thing with going on with NSider (Nintendo's official forums if anybody still remembers them), and a majority of the people on there were trolls/idiots, but I still came because there were a few people there that I didn't have any other way to contact.
But basically what I would say on the comments is that Caff posts his blog for people who have trouble finding a decent TF2 server to play on that visit Destructoid, and get turned off by the fact that the Destructoid "community" server is mostly empty throughout the day, while we generally always have at least a few people to a full server playing throughout the day. Our server's definitely one of the more active ones that I've seen on TF2.

Ive been at dtoid for about a year and the reason i liked it so much is because it wasnt like kotaku with the ban hammer ever present. The community weeded out the people it didnt like and we could continue to have 4chan type fun without the racism or porn, that being said it is a place where criticism towards the site isnt really tolerated. Every one keeps saying the quality has gone down but recently Ive noticed less trolls and though good blogs are more rare the complete fail number of blogs has gone down too. Its still a fun lackadaisical site that doesnt take it self too seriously like the majority of games sites and I will continue to read it and play this server.

The latter I cant explain, maybe talk to joel :
The former was basically I started running a server for the community roughly 3 months after TF2 came out, first out of my home connection, then ponying up my own hard earned dough. At this point everything was pretty much gold, Kor approached me on his own and we both put in enough money to keep the server up for a year.
Roughly a month and a half, maybe 2 after that a few people decided to harass other people in the server, the rules I had decided to lay down earlier were basically, don't act like an ass to other people, you're here to play a game, take that shit elsewhere. They grumbled bitched and moaned, ect.
Shit quiets down for a while with little flare ups here and there, I got uber pissed when I heard a bunch of them were trying to talk Niero into requesting that I stop hosting and pay for their own server. So...instead of either coming to me, or just ponying up their own money, they are trying to hit someone else up for it.
Eventually Scotty set these forums up for to talk to each other, since the cblogs really don't provide any form of two way dialog. There were some more shit storms, the three of us, Kor, Scotty, and I all decided it would be for the best if we gave up the name. It had been a major issue earlier, we now had our own identity, but we still wanted to provide the dtoid community with a place to play TF2 and I think thats part of the shit storm now.
Those that run that server still feel threatened by competition, I think what they don't understand is that we cater to different people. A community, any community, is not homogeneous, people might not like what I provide, and conversely they might not like what they provide. PCs require free standing, online 24/7 servers, its not like Xbox Live or PSN where you can pick and chose the groups you are playing with or spontaneously make them on an 'as needed' or 'player overflow' basis.
As to your other post, its a shame that you're not allowed to have an opinion other than the hive mind. As I pointed out earlier a lot of people mailed Neiro some constructive stuff regarding rules and enforcement, he responded to it enthusiastically, but in the end it fell short and Ive not seen a drop of action taken as a result, and when something like that happens, you're going to lose some respect for someone, site founder or not.
If I didn't think the site was worthwhile I wouldn't be reading articles by some of the writers I like and still posting invites and hosting for the 80 - 90% of the community that aren't complete and utter fuck-wads. As someone who's spent a long ass time reading the site (since before Summa had his stint) I think its went down in quality, best time was probably right after Summa got canned. It was before the cblogs, when the forums were still hopping, and before the flood of ass-clowns that think they own the place.

I don't think anyone has an argument to stand one when we accept gays and furries and don't accept assholes who want to make their lives hell and try to make us out to be elitist.
5 trouble makers who continue to make edrame does not mean we do not accept the dtoid community, or we would have stopped reading/posting there in the first place.

Well I thought it was a fantastic Tuesday. I think we managed to prove something about dustbowl though, that a highly organized offense will beat a highly organized defense.
That was a hella fun. I loved that we surprised them at 3 by coming out with 3 ubers and all of our players. Good times. Also me and I think negate nade jumped past the remaining sentry for the cap.

#3 will stay full all day on weekends if it's seeded from 11:00, (CEST) At least that's what I noticed. I'm not always around to seed it so all help is appreciated...
