Hell yeah. I can get Bioshock for less than $25 now. Smile

TF2 is probably the game I play most often. Right now I'm also actively playing MGS1-3 while waiting for MGS4's price to drop and replaying the GBA version of BoFII, resulting from the recent discussion on Dtoid. It's been a long time since I've played a good RPG (haven't played Persona 3 yet).

@Jorge: You're avatar makes me lol in public every time I see it. Thanks a lot asshole Smile.

Yeah I barely play anything but TF2 nowadays except for mod nights and going through MGS2 and 3

The main effect TF has had on my other gaming is trying to RJ in...any game with a rocket launcher, basically.

It really, _really_ doesn't work in BF2142.

When I first started playing TF2, I couldn't stop, now it's not so much the same.
Granted it's probably the game I play the most on my PC, but I can't stop playing Gears of War. Once you get good at gears, you can't stop playing. TF2 is always a little frustrating, albeit good. In gears, I can just chill n' kill everyone. 1v4? No problem  ;D

1v4 in tf2 doesnt work because tf2 is very much a team game, every class has it's weakness and strengths. When you play 1vs4 one person can just switch to your weakness and one person to something like medic and you're done for... The real skill in tf2 is in working together well...

I'm not saying I like gears more than TF2 because I can't do 1v4 in TF2, I'm just saying that gears is more enjoyable for me because I'm already good at it.

Re: Team Fortress 2's affect on your other gaming - Versus - 06-30-2008

Yeah, but it just takes more time and relative amounts of ammunition to kill someone in TF2 compared to other games, unless like 5 people walk on a sticky trap Tongue. For example, in CoD4, you can kill like 5 people in 1-2 seconds playing on HC if they line up the right way, with like 1/6 of your ammo or less.

At home, when I'm not on my laptop, TF2 takes up most of my gaming time, although sometimes I'll play CoD4. FFTA2 killed my will to completely finish TWEWY (get all items, etc....at least I'm not going for 100% pin mastery. Tongue). Smile

I didn't like BF2142, but I loved BF2...except for spending like 10-15+ hours just to unlock one or two more guns.

Every time someone compares a cartoon FPS like TF2 to a 'real life sim' shooter, God kills a kitten.

Please, think of the kittens.

Also, I don't like WW2 shooters. It's been done about a billion times, I'm sick of it move on plzkthnxbai. BF2 was a slight improvement over 1942, since many fewer people have done the 'real world right now' fps, but I much prefered the entirely fictional 2142. But thats me.

Don't even start about how futuristic shooters have been done before, or ima stab you in the face, over the internets. When you get to create your own universe, its a different environment. When you're trying to copy real life, you're trying to make your game the _exact same_ as everyone else's. Capiche?

War, huh, what is it good for?  Video games apparently.

CoD4: MODERN WARFARE. >_>

It's not hard to kill 20 people with 7 bullets..
7 sniper bullets+7 kills= heli support=20 kills.

If it wasn't because of TF2, I'd probably have a WoW account right now.

I must say that I tried a WoW trial a week ago, but I stopped every two hours to play TF2, so TF2 had a VERY positive influence on my gaming.

Re: Team Fortress 2's affect on your other gaming - Fail Medic - 06-30-2008

TF2 is 90% of my gaming time.  I've yet to beat Crysis, Okami and No More Heroes, though I've pledged I'll take down one 'Heroes boss each night before bed.  Little by little, I'll get it!  Not only that, TF2 has also cut seriously into my porn collection cataloging project.  I'll never get done with that  :'( .

However, the BRB community (and the one I was in before emigrating here) is mostly responsible for my TF2 timesinking.  It's YOU!!!!!!  You and you and YOU and you and (seethes) yoooouuuuu.  J'accuse!

I swear, I don't recall playing on another server except for a 24-hour OrangeX box in months, which in Internet time is a couple of epochs.

Yeah, but I usually use MP5, M4, etc. Tongue, and there's no equivalent in TF2.

edit: LOL fail.
