Re: Heavy Updates ARE Next. - Fail Medic - 07-02-2008 You know what I think would be an "economical" idea for the Heavy?  A Siberian Bear pounce.  It would let him do a frighteningly quick lunge that would rival or slightly exceed a Scout's single-jump horizontal distance.  It could be done while the gun is spinning / active.  It causes melee damage to opponents tackled. Of course, it would need a stamina bar.  You start with an empty bar and it would take a while to earn a use of the pounce.  However, it builds over time with no player action required.  It builds faster if you go on a killing spree. What do you think, sirs? Re: Heavy Updates ARE Next. - rumsfald - 07-02-2008 Zangeif Piledriver. Seriously minigun: something to decrease damage but increase health - maybe a shield deflector on sasha that could block some direct fire (but not at the head or feet) but also reduced visibility shotgun: riot shield. No offensive use, but would allow the heavy to get into position with no movement penalty. fists: a grapple or snare to slow/limit movement of scouts stupid enough to get too close. Re: Heavy Updates ARE Next. - Versus - 07-02-2008 fists: 1/3 or 1/2 rate of...fire? , 100% crits. I always thought that the heavy should kill anyone in one or two melee hits. Re: Heavy Updates ARE Next. - HuckBerryGee - 07-03-2008 I say add a mullet on the heavy with the different gun so medics know who's who. Frullet, front mullet Re: Heavy Updates ARE Next. - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 07-03-2008 His unlockable melee weapons should totally be a hammer and a sickle. Don't know what special properties they could give it though Re: Heavy Updates ARE Next. - Benito Mussolini - 07-03-2008 I would give the heavy offencive attributes. The heavy is pretty much a defensive class as it is right now low mobility, but high capacity of taking damage) TF2's "offencive" classes (Scout, Soldier and Pyro) can all cause some havoc among the enemy's lines: the scout, with his speed, can get behind ennemies, the soldier's rocket propells the ennemiws and the pyro's fire makes most of them flee to the nearest health kit. What the heavy would need is something as a gun that has low attack power, but that pushes the ennemy quite far (I'd give that as the shotgun), to break the ennemies' defencive positions. To keep medics away from him, I'd give a gun (minigun) that deals more damage when the Heavy loses health. Example: the gun would deal 2/5 of the damage the heavy has taken (with a minimum of 0)+ 5-15. A heavy with full health won't be able to fight very well at all (would make other weapons more useful, perhaps?), at 200hp, gun deals 45-55 (about the damage it deals right now) and at 100hp, 85-95. No downside needed, I guess because the heavy at full hp won't deal a lot of damage. This makes the heavy way more aggressive (he wants to take damage), and it makes the player manage his health a lot more. I'd like the fists to have a higher crit chance (up to 40%), deal less damage (about 66%, so crits deal 200%), but crits (upercuts) send ennemies up in the air flying! Re: Heavy Updates ARE Next. - Spore - 07-03-2008 Heavy needs this. Totally cereal. You have to push and hold, push and hold. And you know, the objective isn't to keep the medics off him, necessarily, it's to make him more viable if by some misfortune, he doesn't have one. Also, I'd like higher viability. Medics should never attach themselves to me... they're gonna get themselves perished. Hmm. What about a special Medigun homing beacon that only the Heavy can wear that would give the Medigun a) longer range and b) smarter corner AI? In before "THAT WULD BRAEK GAEM!!" Just wild brainstorming ;D . Or... "Feedback". If a Heavy is Overhealed, the Heavy can shunt some of his health back to the Medic. Yes, this is a lame idea.
