Yeah its quite a surprise that England didn't make it.

Re: Who's ready for some Eurocup? - exanimo - 06-06-2008

Personally I'd like to see Germany or Sweden take it, I know it's a longshot, but I love underdogs.

Germany an underdog? lol Germany is never an underdog, they usually score the winning goal in the last minute... They've also won their fair share of cups and are always qualified...

Germany are far from the great team they were but still far from underdogs.

Well at least they got themselves a new manager in Fabio Capello.  Besides him being Italian he is quite an accomplished manager winning league championships with 4 different clubs in Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus and Roma.  If anyone can get the English National team out of its rut it is him.

Also, woe is me.  Italy's captain and one of the best defenders in the world, Fabio Cannavaro, is out due to injury.  I have faith Italy can manage without him but it will certainly be tough.

As Italy's entire strategy is build on defense (boooooring) this is a disaster indeed.  Tongue

Hahah.  You're too funny.  Just because Italy doesn't rely on "run and gun" tactics like other countries doesn't mean they are boring.

Re: Who's ready for some Eurocup? - Ianki - 06-07-2008

First two games on ESPN classic, a channel i don't have.  F that S

Re: Who's ready for some Eurocup? - Tragic Hero - 06-07-2008

They should all be on ESPN 2 (or so I thought).  That does suck if you don't have those stations but at least they are showing all the games in the states.

Just the first couple of games today were unwatchable, most after this should be i guess so all is fine in the world.  I'm looking forward to Germany vs Poland tomorrow.

Re: Who's ready for some Eurocup? - Tragic Hero - 06-07-2008

Yeah I can't wait for that one either.  It might be a stretch but I got Poland being a dark horse in that group and winning it.  Far fetched?  Probably but I would like to see it happen.

Hah.  It was a long shot pick people.  I would have never put money on the game or anything.

Re: Who's ready for some Eurocup? - Ianki - 06-09-2008

Ani, i'll be watching tomorrow for the Netherlands V Italy.

If my copy of Winning Eleven 2007 is any indication, the Netherlands are quite good?  Don't think they have what it takes though.

Meanwhile, Croatia seems to be stealing win after win.  First they knocked England out in the qualifiers, and yesterday they stole a match against Austria.  Should have been a tie game if not for the Penalty Kick.

After tomorrow it'll be a lull until France V Italy  ;D

Re: Who's ready for some Eurocup? - exanimo - 06-09-2008
