Re: CLICK CLICK CLICK...well fuck - cbre88x - 07-08-2008 I'm getting to the point where I'll need another hd. My one and only 250 gig is running out of space at a very fast rate. Re: CLICK CLICK CLICK...well fuck - HeK - 07-08-2008 My old nas had a disc1, disc2, and a disc3. Moving to the new one, there's only one logical drive. Think of something better, I can change it. That's it? A quick Newegg search resulted in this. I'm not really interested in converting write speed to write time at the moment so I can draw some comparisons, but 30 MB/s seems pretty formidable to me. And it's a pretty hefty 64 gigs, though that'll run you in the neighborhood of $800 dollars. Not something I'd blow eight large on, but I think indicative of things to come. Re: CLICK CLICK CLICK...well fuck - HeK - 07-09-2008 $800 for 64mb??! I'd rather just buy a 32GB CF card and install it into a IDE/CF adapter. 30 MB/s is slow... very slow. The average 7200 rpm hard drive peaks at least 80 MB/s. The 4gb is in my Asus EEE PC. For a portable you really don't need more, and there is a SDHC reader on the side. Just ram in a 8-16GB SD card. |
