Re: Mount and Blade - Chaosye - 07-31-2009

One thing I loved doing in Native was (Considering I was a hulk in the most powerful armor and using the strongest two handed sword) I only used my horse so I could get into the middle of battle really fast and slice the fuck out of everyone.
Big Grin
I once took out 60 people doing that.

Fighting in wars is hard enough since you keep your health, and that is the most fun part of the game to me anyways. Except someone keeps stealing all my prisoners >Sad

Throw them in a prisoner tower.  At one point on my Native Expansion game I had the leaders from 3 factions and about 20 of their nobles in mine.  I let them rot in there until the respective factions offered me obscene amounts of money for them.  Then I went and captured them again. =)  God this game is awesome.

Re: Mount and Blade - Dave - 08-05-2009

finaly got to the point in native expansion where i think im strong enough to start my own empire. i took a castle on an island with only one bridge to it (its in the rhodock lands) and a village next to the bridge, set up a blacksmith in the castle and a messenger post in my village, working on a prison tower. its hella easy to defend since i get about 15 recruits per day from my village and i train them to be awesome with crossbows, then i let my nord huscarls (and i think 3 champion huskarls now) sort out the scum that gets past my barrage of bolts.

gonna wipe out the rhodoks first then ill take the mongolians since they cant defend/assault a castle for shit.

Re: Mount and Blade - Surf314 - 08-05-2009

I don't have a prison tower yet, but when I finish a war there tends to be a lot less prisoners up for grabs then I remember having knocked out. I did a war just to get 4 nord warriors once and remember knocking out a dozen and yet only getting 3 from it.

The Khergit Khanate (Mongolians) have many units with archers armed with Ivory arrows.  When they are built up and trained they are the second most difficult faction to assault their Towns and Castles.  Seriously, just wait until they have 20 Master Horse Archers in the town shooting at you.  Your respect for them will increase 10x.  I think the worst to try to assault are the Swadians due to how ridiculous knights and paladins are horse or no horse, AND they eventually get Ivory Archers... guess what they use  :Smile

Re: Mount and Blade - Eschatos - 08-05-2009

This game is starting to sound really good.  I might buy it.

Heavy Macemen.  Enough of them will grind any army, city or castle into paste.  Smile

Edit for clarity:  This includes Dark Knights.

I never appreciated cavalry in games until I played Mount and Blade.  Nothing like sweeping through a group of enemies, taking out four or five before needing to turn around.

Re: Mount and Blade - Surf314 - 08-18-2009

I'm getting to be kind of a big deal in this game.

Re: Mount and Blade - Surf314 - 08-23-2009

I'm not too sure what I should be doing in this game. I can raise an army of 65 and I am level 21. I'm a leige man to swadia and we have pretty much destroyed the nords.

try the native expansion mod, its tough shit

Re: Mount and Blade - Surf314 - 08-23-2009

Well I want to start building an empire but dunno if I can take castles with only 65 troops. BRB trying it out.

Edit: Tihr is now mine  ;D

But the asshole king wouldn't let me keep the other town I took all by myself. He only gave me 900 for doing it too, but I wasn't ready to fight him over it yet so I accepted.

Re: Mount and Blade - Montoya - 08-23-2009

I played M&B a while back. Great game. Unfortunately, I lost my CD key, so when I built my new computer, I had to buy it again, so I did. Luckily, I just copied my saves over. Started playing again recently, already wiped out the Rhodoks and Swadians. Now I'm out of things to kill, because the Nords and Khergits are a peace with the Vaegirs. I think I'll just wait in camp for a while until we declare war.
