Re: Building A Computer - Master Shake - 07-27-2008 Here is my updated list: Case Hard Drive Video Card Processor Motherboard Memory edit: new mobo    PSU    Do I need any fans??? Anything else you can tell me that will help. I'm planning on ordering the parts later this week, and I don't want to get anything that might not work!    Re: Building A Computer - Mission Difficult - 07-27-2008 Looks like it comes with two 250mm fans, though it looks like there's a space for a 120mm on the back as well. I would probably get another fan just for the hell of it, but that's just me. Re: Building A Computer - ktj - 07-28-2008 Go for ddr2 mobo (asus) x38 rather than x48 (cheaper ^^) and ddr2 mem. Re: Building A Computer - Master Shake - 07-28-2008 Everyone says ddr2, but I'd rather just spend the money on a ddr3 mobo and ram now, so in the future I just have to upgrade my cpu. I know there's basically no difference now, but in a year or so it should be worth it. That's always my plan, but I have never actually bothered just to upgrade the CPU. There's always some new doo-hickey (AGP, PCI-E, SATA, etc, etc, etc,) coming available, and it always seems better to save up for a full upgrade than lock more money into an old mobo. Maybe if upgrade a CPU every 9-12 months it might make sense, but that's too rich for my blood. Re: Building A Computer - ktj - 07-28-2008 The tribe has spoken. It's time for you to buy ddr2 mobo. |
