Both Console and PC - Vongore - 08-18-2008 For me.. uhm Brawl gave me hours of fun.. and it's honestly, the only game i've bought this year (i still depend on my parents to buy games, they are 70$ here ;_ Soooo, Brawl for GOTY Re: Your contenders of GOTY. God Oblivion was the textbook case of how you can have an awesome engine but make one of the worst most bland RPG's of all time... And that's not even starting about the levelling system and all the other epic mistakes... Re: Your contenders of GOTY. That was the worst design choice ever... It made the game easy as fuck for combat players and impossible for the people who went for non-combat skills... And weak enemies who got epically strong when you levelled up totally killed any suspension of disbelief I had... Re: Your contenders of GOTY. Both Console and PC - KarthXLR - 08-18-2008 Portal. Better than the crap we got this year. 'cept for spore and L4D Now how freaking long will it take them to announce Episode Three?! Re: Your contenders of GOTY. Both Console and PC - Versus - 08-18-2008 Oblivion was decent...with a couple dozen mods loaded. SSB Brawl. Starcraft II. Hopefully Fallout 3. Left 4 Dead. Spore. Re: Your contenders of GOTY. Yeah, like "Basic Instinct", Female_EyeCandy_BodyReplacement, BTMOD Customization, LOD Texture Replacement Pack, etc. I ultimately did enjoy Oblivion. Sameness of environment elements and bad-taste-in-mouth levelling system aside, I did enjoy the Martin story and the stories that emerged through the guild quests. I also enjoyed the sandbox element with certain mods. Would Audiosurf qualify? What about No More Heroes? My gaming scope this year has literally been 90% TF2 and 10% other things so I'm pretty unqualified to nominate anything. Re: Your contenders of GOTY. Both Console and PC - Wedge - 08-18-2008 TF2? It's like... still sort of out... coming out... constantly.... something. Fuck I dunno, the only game from this year I've played a lot is FFTA2, so I choose that so far. Re: Your contenders of GOTY. Both Console and PC - Wedge - 08-18-2008 Oh and on console the GOTY is Castle Crashers hands down. It was amazing when I played it TWO YEARS ago. So it must be the greatest game ever now. I play the flash version almost every day.. I really need an Xbox Re: Your contenders of GOTY. Both Console and PC - Tragic Hero - 08-19-2008 I would throw No More Heroes in there although that is more of a "emotional pick" than a logical one. All and all I am going to have to put my money on Spore for GOTY. I was going to say, because aside from the character design and art style the game wasn't all that good. Even the 'good' ending was disappointing. |
