As funny as it would be that is the last thing our country needs though.  To vote for a TV talk show host for President.  I could see the whole world laughing at us more than they do because of that.

Off the top of my head, I could see Stephen Colbert doing as well or better at governing than

Fred Thompson
Al Franken
Jesse "the body" Ventura
Ronald Reagan
Sonny Bono
Arnold Schwarzenegger

Then again, that's really not a high bar.

I meant as president though, not as a simple senator or govenor

Pundits rarely make good politicians, much for the same reason that literary critics rarely write good novels.
