Here is my tattoo.

I also have both my nipples pierced.. I was young and stupid, but now they're a part of me and who I am.  Big Grin

And once I get a better paying job, I'm getting another tat of some variation of this

on my upper arm / lower shoulder.

EDIT: Also, if you're wondering what it says around the image of the two dragon heads on my tattoo, it's an ambigram of the phrase "brothers together" because my brother got the exact same tattoo with me.

Also, also, if you're not sure what an ambigram is.. google it.  ;D

I don't have much done.

There's nothing I would ever consider having tattooed onto my body; nothing that would need to be there permanently. When I want something, I play with henna.

I don't have much in the way of piercings either... I have, as most girls do, my ear lobes pierced, but then my right ear has a hoop as well higher up. I don't have one on the left because that ear is slightly deformed and it sticks out silly if it has a ring. When I was born they needed the forceps apparently, and they squished my ear with them, deforming the cartlidge permanently. My ear is cupped like so its like I constantly have my hand to it.. I hear better than the average person thanks to that, though. At least, when I'm paying attention.

I also don't wear it on one side to denote sexuality; I just prefer my right side for the reasons mentioned above. Plain and simple. So there is nothing on the left, only the right.

Here's a picture, boring though it is.

They don't let you into Japanese bathhouses with a tattoo.

Wait, people actually go by that? I thought it was just something kids thought up in middle school to make fun of guys who got piercings...

Re: Piercings, ink and assorted modifications - exanimo - 10-01-2008

Well honestly, I'm not sure. But when will you find yourself going to a private bathhouse in Japan?
All I know is the one that I went to in Sapporo, my friends asked me if I had any tattoos and they told me you can't go in if I had them. Apparently tattoos in Japan makes you look like a criminal. *Shrug*

Maybe because of the Yakuza?

Many Yakuza have full-body tattoos. These tattoos, known as irezumi in Japan, are still often "hand-poked," that is, the ink is inserted beneath the skin using non-electrical, hand-made and hand held tools with needles of sharpened bamboo or steel. The procedure is expensive and painful and can take years to complete.

It's because organized crime (Yakuza) distinguish themselves with tattoos. Kind of like a membership badge or something.

I could see that being loosened soon enough though, as I'm sure even in Japan more and more ordinary people are getting tattoos.
