Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - copulatingduck - 10-16-2008 Sorry Surf. I was just struck by the irony of Quote:Apple just upped their cards to the 9 series which makes me wish my computer broke a little later and couldn't help but take a dig. I didn't mean anything by it. And well, the comic was just a funny, relevant comic that was posted on Reddit this morning. :'< :-* Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - CaffeinePowered - 10-16-2008 (10-16-2008, 08:29 AM)Surf314 link Wrote: duck is an mac hateboy, confirmed. There was a video like that comment where the new mac keeps strangling people/bludgeoning people. Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - copulatingduck - 10-16-2008 Meh. I think operating systems in general are overpriced, apple's hardware is really overpriced, most other pre-builts are overpriced as well, and gamer rigs are for fags with more money then sense. /jealous Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - KarthXLR - 10-18-2008 (10-16-2008, 09:41 AM)CopulatingDuck link Wrote: Meh. Haven't installed yet but the nVidia page makes some pretty bold claims about performance increases. Only for 8800 and above cards. Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - [fr31ns]Karrde - 11-21-2008 for my 8600m GT (with altered .inf to make it install) 178.13 seems to be the gold standard so far, even for 8800 users. Despite nvidia's claims to the otherwise. Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - x - 01-10-2009 181 drivers released a couple of days ago. The release notes just seemed to list bug fixes and, as you say, support for the 285/295 cards. That said, I'm assuming they include the changes implemented in the beta release last month to improve GTAIV performance, which seemed to make quite a difference for some people so I guess there are improvements. I've only played TF2 since installing but that ran smoothly anyway so it's not a great reference point. BRB installing the old driver. Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - Blues - 01-12-2009 I was going to make a joke about the changes being more crashes like with all the new driver releases, but you beat me to it Karth. +1 |
