Heh, I never did redeem that beta code that I got from PAX. Still have it sitting right in front of me too.

It's definitely not a shooter, all the equipment and skills have an RPG like timer on them, and there's AoE buffs and healing "spells" you can cast and stuff.  The actual combat didn't seem to be much more than a bunch of hoping around and shooting eachother until someone's HP ran out.  Also the game when I played it used these absurd and really annoying cartoony sound effects for a lot of things.  The game really is nothing like TF2, even aesthetically.  TF2 is funny because it combines cartoony characters with ridiculous violence, where everything about BF Heroes actually seems squarely geared for kids and family friendlyness.  And the idiots couldn't even support FF 3 properly when I tried to play, I had to go through all kinds of hoops to even get it loaded and had to run it through IE (though presumably all that will be fine when it's released).

Not really a huge deal anyways though, the game won't cost anything when it's out.
