we already have a PS2, but it's permanently in my brother's room, and his TV kinda sucks, so I need one to play Persona 3 and the MGS series. anyone willing to sell me theirs? ;D

+1 for playing two of my favorites Smile PS2's are drit cheap though, so it shouldn't be to hard to get one.

Or he could go out and buy a PS3 since he's so rich to play his PS 2 games on....oh....wait....fail Sad

That's why I'm glad I got one of the last 80GB ones :S

I think you mean 60/20, both of those have 100% BC, the 80 is like 66 - 75% (performs worse in these as its software emulation instead of hardware), and the 40g is nothing Sad

As I previously stated, I got what you need.  This means that everything you will need for this playstation to function properly and display the game on the television is included.  It simply will cost you one dollar less than blues' offer.

Nah, I was never able to find a 60. The 80 works fine though, and runs everything I've tried to play on it with out any issues or performance drops.

If I can get the money for it, would it be a good idea to get a Backwards compatible PS3 off ebay?

Depends... Do you already have a PS2? Are you willing to buy a PS2 as well if necessary? Are you willing to have a PS2 and PS3 hooked up at once? How much do you even play PS2 games?

I definitely wouldn't automatically say yes, but those are things to consider. Smile

If you are set on buying a PS3, yes, the 60 gig is the best model they released, has the most features, they've just cut shit out over time and kept price the same Sad

I do not have a PS2.

I had one for about a week until A GENERIC MEMORY CARD KILLED IT.

I've always wanted to play some of those famous PS2 titles that I never got the chance to play.

I have about 200 bucks saved up right now, so if I can get a job over some days, I'll be able to afford it much quicker.

If you don't mind waiting for PS3 titles, it doesn't take much poking around to find cheap PS2s. Just look on local classifieds and websites, and check flea markets and pawn shops. Heck, even new they're only like $100 and you can get away with selling them used for almost that.

[/quote]except if anybody's in their right mind they wouldn't buy a used ps2 for $100. The fat ones are $59.99 used and the slim ones are $79.99. And shopping online you aren't even guaranteed that they work.

You forgot that people are idiots, so yeah, someone somewhere will buy one for 100$. Also you're guaranteed it'll work if it's new, or that you'll get a refund. Unless you're shopping on some backwards ass self-hosted site from a dude who packaged his dreamcast in the PS2 box.

BTW, I don't actually have a PS2.  I was thinking about sending you a cardboard box colored with marker to look like a ps2 if you took me up on the offer.
