You can actually sell them. You just have to serialize it first. How the law is worded is that you can sell to clear out your collection, you just can't sell as a BUSINESS. Now where do you cross the line from collection to business inventory? That's an entirely different question.
so have you started perusing dealers yet? or are you holding out to buy a legitimate one from a real manufacturer?
I own 2 ARs right now (one is a completed rifle, the other is a stripped lower receiver). I'm waiting for the prices of everything to come down before I buy anything else. Sandy Hook happened and prices damn near doubled overnight. However, I'd love to get a 3D printer going to build one of the receivers. I probably wouldn't use it but it'd be fun for the novelty.
I'm in the same boat. I'd be up for an 80% lower, they're usually pretty cheap, comparatively, but I don't know where I could machine it the rest of the way. I'd love to have an "off the books" AR but I don't know how to do machining work, and from what I've gathered, i can't just hire someone out to do it. Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - Eschatos - 03-25-2013 Why do people draw penises? Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - Goffin - 03-25-2013 The article itself is in at limp dick state (penthouse anybody?) but I found this video within there to be amazing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbSfUOuTF0w&feature=player_embedded#! /Golf clap! Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - rumsfald - 03-25-2013 I loved that it featured Lord British also being one of the perverted masses. I hated that it omitted this pretty famous bit of graffiti in Russia, most visible when the bridge is erect. Speaking of Lord British, today he did an AMA on Reddit. Link At the very least it has succeeded in making me excited for Shroud of the Avatar. If I found a genie bottle, I would wish for Ken Levine and Lord British to collaborate on an isometric RPG. Levine does the story, Lord B does the rpg mechanics and interjects some hilarious side-missions. Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - Elder - 03-27-2013 you learn funny things like how the British are founding fathers of geology. Also they named covering layers in the basin and range sheets.
